He's going to TX so failure is kinda baked in.

Yes, I agree.....A Ft. Worth, Texas newspaper labeled him a "Kardashian", meaning he took the money and did nothing.... He very definitely comes across as being like Josh, Rosen, spoiled and entitled and didn't want to compete with QB's at Ohio State just as good as him.. In the long run I wouldn't be surprised he wasn't much better than Josh Rosen.

I don't think he's a bad player at all but TX can't get out of its own way when it comes to football. I suspect the booster involvement and meddling in coaching is awful. They underachieve.

NIL may change that. They appear to have some organization and unity about getting players compensated. I still think rich guy egos and squabbles will make TX screw it up before long.

Rumor is that TX gave Ewers around $4-5M in NIL.

Nix isn't Ewers but someone may need a serviceable QB and offer him a million or so. Also, Tank is in the portal too...... and Auburn is probably going in the tank.

Tank apparently changed his mind and will stay at Auburn

I’ll take “Things you do and later regret” for $100, Alex

I don't know ... he might work out pretty well at Oregon.

Neither Malzahn nor Harsin has the reputation of getting the most out of QBs.

I know he's an Auburn legacy so I'm sure that's why he went there but not many good high school QB's were signing up to play for Malzhan. Never understood that.

So it seems Nix has had ups and downs. I don't know much about him. What's the negative?
Well, I feel like that game you guys had against him in his first game as a freshman kind of tells the story. His #’s weren’t really good, but then he does something that wows you. He’s a great athlete, but you get “Good Bo” and “Bad Bo”. That’s my take on the guy. I’m sure there are some others on here that probably have a better take than i do. I’ve only seen him play a handful of times.

I think you pretty much got it.

I would add that during his freshman year, he played pretty well all things considered. I mean, you are going to expect mistakes from a QB who was playing high school ball 9 months earlier. Over time though, these issues should be ironed out and that's where I think Nix suffered. There really hasn't been that progression you would expect out of someone with that much playing time. Basically, a better version of JG as weird as that sounds.
