Either one really. I don't think I necessarily agree with it, but I could probably at least somewhat see the slut argument, but villain? This show seems pretty chock full of villains but not sure how she would qualify as one.

She's a pretty bad person, if you ask me. She's selfish, unprincipled, greedy, etc. Not that Nucky is a good husband, but he is the protagonist in the story. Margaret has come through huge for him on a few occasions, but she's also undermined him consistently each season, and it's getting worse. I'm thinking they take the story in a direction that makes this a lot more obvious. At this point it's subtle, and maybe she's just a complicated character, but I think they are grooming her to outright oppose our hero.

Maybe I'm wrong...just a theory.

I guess that's where the argument breaks down for me. I don't view Nucky, or anyone for the matter outside of maybe Richard, as even remotely good or heroic. Protagonist and hero aren't the same to me.

Not particularly. I enjoy watching the story unfold and it's not exactly like I'm rooting for anyone else to "beat him" per se, but what little interest I had in him succeeding went out the window when he killed Jimmy.

I consider Nucky a hero, strictly in the sense that I'm rooting for him. I do want him to win, but I wouldn't be butt-hurt if they went a completely new direction on things...like maybe Gyp wins, and we're introduced to a new protagonist next season. Would be interesting.

Story wise I thought it made perfect sense and it was what Nucky had to do, so if that's what you mean, then I did agree it was "right". I also thought that Jimmy was the only one with any shred of good in them and killing him took the one sympathetic or endearing aspect of Nucky away. I'm not trying to complain about the show, I really enjoy it, but to me its an entertaining story full of awful people at every turn so I'm not really rooting for one awful person over the next awful person.

Why? Jimmy tried to kill Nucky first. Nucky is obviously guilty of some heinous ****, but as far as mob bosses go, he's a good dude.

Ultimately, it doesn't really matter, as I said I enjoy the show but I just view the characters slightly differently but my point was saying someone guilty of heinous **** and still calling him a good dude, even by mob boss standards, seems odd to me.

Holy ****!!!!! Owen ended up dead in a box and Margret is prego!! I have a feeling that chalky might turn his back on nucky. I wish Richard wouldn't get involved with the war, take the kid and the girl and leave Atlantic city. Damn you can't trust no one their all strategically tring to plot on one another. And I knew that the former FBI agent would get caught up selling that whiskey. This is Fixin to blow up!! And the way margret reacted to Owens death he knows something was going between them two

unless Margaret plans in aborting the baby, she better plan on making Nucky dump it in all day long.
