Painted a bleak picture of UT football. Among the highlights:

- La Tech was glad to be rid of Dooley

- Administration at UT is horrible on all levels

- The only way for UT football to get back on track is to completely clean house... i.e. Dooley, Hart, Board of Trustees, etc...

- He also made some comment to the effect of "a program I used to love..."

He did not sound like a happy man. I'm as down as anyone about the football season, but the only way to get back on track is to fire anyone involved with the AD?

Never heard of the guy but he sounds like a grade A jack@zz. It sucks being in this situation right now but you dont burn the whole thing to the ground. build off of what you have accomplished in the last three years. bringing in stable talent, solid man in the AD chair, etc. hiring a new coach with a proven track record would do wonders for this team IMO.

Maybe. I doubt they would swap right now

Probably not on all levels. I think we have fixed some of the issues. Still have some others to clean up.

Overkill IMO

My thoughts.

Both of your comments reflect what I was thinking. I read a lot of people here complaining about Finebaum, but I rarely get to hear him.

Gilbert is apparently an AP writer who used to work at UT. Interesting choice to go on Paul's show. Wonder why he chose him? Leading up to Bama game, he gets to throw some chum in the water.

That was a terrible interview. Finebaum said it was about the bleakest picture of a program he had ever heard before. And he's heard alot!
I just don't know how going on the radio and trashing the program is really going to help our public perception or recruiting.

I had heard that La Tech was glad to get rid of him also. Now, I am more inclinded to believe it.

Keyword, finebaum. Ut alumni, saban nuthugger, hates everything apparently from the books he's written, even the NCAA. Anything on his show is garbage.

Listening to that guy made me want to go into a windowless room with a revolver and a bottle of Jack and think about some things

I go to Louisiana alot and I know Tech fans and LSU fans. None of the Tech fans I know were glad to get rid of him and several of the LSU fans I know were hoping he would be they're next coach. They aren't saying that now of course but they sure as hell were then.

I think Bitter Bob writes for the Murfreesboro rag. He hasn't said anything nice about UT in years.

This. At the time, I remember a lot of tech fans were upset when he left.

To give perspective, Bob Gilbert tried to interview ME a few years back ... well, OK maybe it was a lot of years back. He was the only one to stoop to my level. He has continued to sink into the quicksand.
