I go to Louisiana alot and I know Tech fans and LSU fans. None of the Tech fans I know were glad to get rid of him and several of the LSU fans I know were hoping he would be they're next coach. They aren't saying that now of course but they sure as hell were then.

This is what heard, honestly.

Oh how tunes change when you look in hindsight.

Just do a little checking before you pop off about someone.

:eek:k:

clearly i'm not the only guy who didn't know who he was. A respected reporter typically doesn't appear on a popular radio show claiming that a university should ax everyone in its upper athletic department. Sounds like somebody who needs to grow the h3ll up IMO.

Painted a bleak picture of UT football. Among the highlights:

- La Tech was glad to be rid of Dooley

- Administration at UT is horrible on all levels

- The only way for UT football to get back on track is to completely clean house... i.e. Dooley, Hart, Board of Trustees, etc...

- He also made some comment to the effect of "a program I used to love..."

He did not sound like a happy man. I'm as down as anyone about the football season, but the only way to get back on track is to fire anyone involved with the AD?

I don't agree with his comments on totally cleaning house, Hart is a respected AD that has been at powerhouse programs, he knows what to do.

If he is writing for a Murfreesboro* paper,
he and Clay may be seeing who can get their heads the farthest up Franklin butt.

Sad thing is I can hear finebaum sighing, as usual, and agreeing with this delusional old washed up nobody.

I hate the prick too but his show gets a lot of attention. If you hadn't noticed, at least one thread a week show's up a week with "Finebaum" in the title.

This guy hates UT. But, he was one of the first to break "Tee-Gate" and "Tutor-Gate". He was right on, in both cases. UT suffered some NCAA or self imposed sanctions over those two screw-ups. Just because someone is biased doesn't mean they are incorrect or lying, automatically.

His show gets a lot of attention because he plays to his audience. In all reality, he is just a turncoat, jackazz who will degrade his Alma mater at the drop of a dime just to help support his ratings!

Ska-ROO Finebaum!! I wouldn't pi$$ on him if he was on fire..... Unless I was pi$$ing GASOLINE!!

Um, when has anything on the Finebaum show ever painted a positive picture of UT? It's Finebaum people...

I live in La Tech/ ULM country and you are right. When Dooley was here, he was viewed as one who turned the program around in a positive way. I would say now the sentiment is about 50/50 on whether or not he was a good coach, but when he left, they thought he was pretty great around here.

i heard Bpb on finebaum a little while ago.. not sure about his background but dang i think he is way off base.

I disagree on a few points:

Dooley left La Tech a heck of alot better than when he found it.
Our roster is better than when he got here.
We have some great players on this team. (hunter, patterson come to mind)

I do agree that

the players do not seem to be coached up.

I want Dooley to succeed as much as anyone, but truth is as we sit today... Precious just aint cuttin it....

could you elaborate?

If you've ever read much of his stuff, he's as hypercritical of Tennessee football as you could possibly be. That's not to say that he doesn't have valid points, but he's going to run the program into the ground every chance he gets. He used to absolutely crush Fulmer and seemingly hasn't been happy since Johnny Majors was forced out 20 years ago.
