Bob Kesling to Retire

One of the worst calls that Bob regularly makes is identifying the correct team. “Foul on TN” means TN got fouled. Same with turnovers. “Turnover TN” in Bob-speak means a takeaway by TN.

In football he doesn’t give the most important details up front. On 3rd and five he’ll name the runner/pass catcher, but almost as an afterthought 10 seconds later announces if a first down was picked up on the play. And when time is winding down at the end of each half he doesn’t keep the listeners up to date on the clock.

I’m happy that Bob now gets to enjoy his retirement.

Yep the lack of enthusiasm has never been his biggest flaw. He doesn’t tell you basic information consistently and in a timely way.

Nor do I. Not getting the "Voice of the Vols" gig may have been the best thing to happen for Mike Keith career wise.

It’s a trade off. Nico would stretch the field, but won’t likely be too much of a running threat if it is as concussion. Gaston Moore is probably better at understanding the Heupel offense.

It won’t matter if UT’s defense takes the day off. They’ll need to figure out how to stop the GA run earlier than they did versus KY and Misstake.

Bob hasn’t butchered Iamaleava as much as was expected. It’s almost cruel to send him out with that name for a QB in his last football season. Then Okpara, Milićić, and Darlinstone to wrap it up.
