Gregg Doyel has a tremendous column on the General at CBSSportsline.

why? because he wins? because he calls them like he sees them? because he runs clean programs everywhere he goes? because he coached at the academy?

interesting to see that from somebody who lives in Indiana. i'm guessing you haven't lived there your whole life.

Actualy I have lived here my whole life. Knight is a great coach but the guy is a total prick. Just because you live in Indiana not everyone thinks he's a God.

P.S.: I've heard he does miss out on some sleep at nites worrying about what I think. He said so in a interview one time. :)

throwing chairs onto the court and choking your players can get you that kind of label.

Kevin O'neil was labeled a prick as well.
Another example of how telling the truth gets you labeled. It's interesting, I find most people who think Knight is a prick to be pious, puritanical a$$holes.

Not all of us "pious, puritanical a$$holes" think Knight is a prick. :p

so are you saying that I'm a prick, or a pious, puritanical icehole? you have me confused since quoting me makes no sense.

I would have been quite surprised if you were a Knight detractor.
I take that as a very high compliment.

One of the odd things I have noticed about those who despise 'The General' is that they usually are also the ones who make quick comments about teams that 'don't have a single white player on the court.'

It is truly baffling...

They're also the fans who blather on and on about players running afoul of the law off the court and failing to graduate. They conveniently overlook Knight's record on those two issues.

I think Jimmy Buffet would consider Bobby Knight "An over-forty victim of fate...arriving too late". I cannot think of Knight without thinking about a certain pinheaded journalist who continues to live off of his father's reputation.

So since I don't like coaches that throw chairs and choke players I'm a a$$hole? Talk about interesting.

Neil Reid was a stiff. i can't tell you how many times i wanted to choke him too. Knight just took advantage of the opportunity he had, and did it on behalf of us all.

the chair incident happened while i was still in diapers. funny how people only remember what they want to remember.

why is what happend last night a big deal?

There was no "incident" at all, sportswriters need to get a life. Amazing that anyone wrote a single word about it. Anyone other than Knight it goes not only unreported but completely unnoticed.

Kudos to Fran Fraschilla. ESPN was running a ridiculous graphic that said "Knight slaps player." Fran called Bristol and said that was ridiculous and misleading. The geniuses at the "World Leader" changed the graphic.

Man, Keith Olberman was all over this on ESPN radio. He sounded on the verge of crying at one point and was beginning to studder. He says Bob Knight should never coach another basketball game and that he has a mental illness.

I loved it, only because I think Olberman is an idiot and he sounded like one during this rant.

Olberman should certainly know all about mental illness.
