Bob Stoops and SEC Propaganda

Are you kidding me? I like the way you put us in there as a winner, when 97? We haven't sniffed anything since.

As many have pointed out it was 98 and the point here is that the BCS started in 98 and 5 different SEC teams have won a BCS title. And we were the best team in the country in 01 too, so that eliminates your "haven't" sniffed since" garbage. Please Stop Posting!

I appreciate the positivity but we weren't better than Miami in 01. One of the best college teams ever.

The SEC Network will blow the other conference networks away , ESPN recognized a great business opportunity and jumped on it.

Isn't he the coach that's about 0-6 in big title games lately??? (Conference & national)

That'd be Bobby...bit of an underachiever with all the talent OU's had, & now he trumps that with whine-fest. Guess he's pouting at not matching accomplishments of Bud Wilkinson & Barry Switzer.

It's strange that Stoops thinks the SEC is overrated when his supposedly elite Big 12 team got stomped by a new SEC team in the Cotton Bowl 42-13. A&M was much tougher than Stoops expected because the schedule (and a better coach) hardened that team, which was basically the 3rd best team in the SEC based on record and performance by the end of the season.

In the Stoops era which started with the 1999 season, Oklahoma has a 3-4 record against the SEC. With a couple of those wins coming against middle tier (at the time) SEC teams.
All Oklahoma games versus SEC in BCS era:
2013/01/04 Oklahoma 13 - Texas A&M 41 L !! Cotton Bowl !!
2009/01/08 Oklahoma 14 - Florida 24 L !! BCS Championship !!
2004/01/04 Oklahoma 14 - LSU 21 L !! Sugar Bowl, BCS Championship !!
2003/09/06 Oklahoma 20 - Alabama 13 W
2002/09/07 Oklahoma 37 - Alabama 27 W
2002/01/01 Oklahoma 10 - Arkansas 3 W !! Cotton Bowl !!
1999/12/31 Oklahoma 25 - Mississippi 27 L !! Independence Bowl !!

Records of the teams they beat:
2001 Arkansas 7-5 (4-4) [Nutt]
2002 Alabama 10-3 (6-2) [Franchione]
2003 Alabama 4-9 (2-6) [Shula]

If this is coming from what i saw on TV he does have a point. He was stating his reasoning because of Ala and LSU being dominant year in and year out. Not that SEC is dominant from top to bottom because the SEC isn't!
