Brohm isn’t leaving Purdue
Maybe maybe not. Some coaches put more emphasis on their alma mater than others. Kirby Smart repeatedly wasnt interested in leaving Bama until Georgia came calling. Me personally id rather be at Purdue. But im not Jeff Brohm. Either place his expectations wont be gigantic but can still on occasion have 8 or 9 win seasons. To me are equal jobs. But again its his family. He may not want to uproot and start over. I do know if what jimmy hysms reported was true and he was about to be Tennessee's head coach and only changed mind after he wasn't given opportunity to address his team. Then he either says no firmy and immediately to Louisville or he is leaving and takes the job. Not good idea to strain relationships with Purdue AD twice this soon.

Assuming he didn't know for sure beforehand, that's got to be awkward. Next week they play NC State, so that will probably be a massacre of epic proportions. Maybe the first FBS ball game where a team scores over 100? Then they finish the season against Kentucky. Depending on how Kentucky does with MTSU next week, that will either be their 8th or 9th win of the season.

Combined with Louisville Bball facing the possibility of either an NCAA sanctioned "Death Penalty", or possibly having to look at the possibility of some not insignificant self imposed sanctions, it's a terrible time to be a Cardinal right now.

Brohm still maintains a family home in Louisville and visits there frequently. Wondering why you're so sure of this? I don't agree. I think he's gone and soon.

Louisville is the one dream job on Brohm’s list im sure. With that said he’s smart enough to know Louisville athletics is a dumpster fire 🔥 right now. He has a great job at Purdue and is already becoming a legend for what he’s done in not even two years. He’s already stolen 3 top recruits from Louisville while at Purdue. Has a top 20 class coming in next season and in the B1G West all you have to deal with is Wisconsin,Nebraska and Iowa to make the B1G championship game ever season without having to deal with FSU and Clemson in ACC. Not sure UofL could afford Brohm after Petrinos buyout. I'm guessing they end up with the guy from UCF or App State. I’ve heard Kiffin’s name mentioned but again not sure they could afford too.

A few things (I agree with you on most everything):
  • I also agree he likely isn't leaving Purdue, but Louisville and UT are the only schools within a 300-mile radius of home (Louisville) that are at/above Purdue (thus worth his consideration). Everywhere else is too far away, no matter how elite.
  • I really think the Brohms like it here in Lafayette/West Lafayette.
  • His Purdue buyout is chump change compared to Petrino's.

Guess that QB carried him like Dobbs
Oh no doubt. Despite having a Heisman winner during his second stint at Louisville, his first one was more impressive. Of course, Louisville was a Conference USA/Big East team during his first time there. He had a couple of solid years, but never was able to beat Clemson.
