Having Taggart get the job at USF and now hiring Petrino will only help WKU ascend the college football ranks. Just like a good Master's program looks better when it can send quality intellects to better Ph.D programs, an athletic program that shows it can be a real place of success and a good launching pad for big-time coaching jobs will only attract other young and hungry coaches to work there.
Two to three years of winning under Petrino and then him getting an SEC job will only help WKU build the program and make it more appealing for future coaching hires.
