With the exception of that 6 minute stretch late in the 3rd we didn't deserve this game. The Bolts d-line killed us all day. It was a great ride and with all the shots Peyton took today it's probably good we lost so they can get a little rest now before the real season starts.
He was planning on it but got stage fright...couldn't handle the pressure.
I don't mind Peyton Manning at all, seems like a really nice guy and probably the best QB (when nothing is on the line) in the history of the NFL. I can't stand the Peyton worshippers. Somehow, Peyton Manning fans have raised him to the level of greatest football player to ever play at UT. He lost the Heisman his senior year by a wider margin than Shuler lost his junior year...Shuler's #21 is not retired. He didn't win a national championship or have an undefeated team. Tee Martin's #17 is not retired. Manning put up more stats in college than either Martin or Shuler, yet he Martin won a championship and voters stated that Shuler as a junior was a better college football player (COLLEGE football player, people get lost on that) than Manning at the time. I would love to see all the Peyton religiosos admit that Shuler was a better college player and that Martin did more for the university of tennessee than Manning did, and I would love to see their numbers retired.
