For Perjury and Obstruction of justice. Way to go, DA's, it's about damned time.

Rumor is that they waited to make sure they had every piece of evidence possible and covered all the aspects so that the case could be as open and shut as possible.

Good bye sports world, this is all your going to hear for the next 6 months...

i seriously doubt it. It'll make waves, but so many people are already over it that I doubt it will leave much of a mark. It will come into play when Mitchell's report is released and that will take over the sports world. But Barry Bonds alone I don't think will do it

Yeah, I agree. I was referring to the goons at ESPN, etc. If your smart, dont watch Sportscenter tonight unless you have more patience than me...

If convicted on all counts, Barry could face 30 years in prison! Ouch.

I wanted to believe in Bonds. This is a huge disappointment.

Greg Anderson was released from jail today.

No need for me to point out what that means.

Yep . . . Looks like someone is singing like a canary.

I can't wait for the day that Gary Sheffield gets called to the stand.

Chris Webber was charged with essentially these same offenses for his involvement in the Ed Martin scandal. Remind me again how much time C-Webb spent in jail.

This could not possibly have happened to a more deserving individual. Anybody that believed for a second that Bonds didn't knowingly take steroids must still believe in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy as well.

Wait til the defense calls Roger Clemens and Andy Pettite and asks them if they were ever called before the grand jury to show this case for what it is, a witchunt aimed at Barry Bonds.

He is a cheater, a drug user and good ole fashioned smart ass to boot. I would crack open an ice cold Budweiser if he was sent to prison...where he rightfully belongs.

He won't do an hour of time, sad as it is. But he will be convicted and punished to some extent.

Though you wanted to believe in him, did you actually ever believe in him?

It probably is a witch hunt to some degree . . . but I think we're going to find out that the witch is guilty as sin and was defiant about it - which ultimately is what got him in trouble. If he had just told the truth a la Jason Giambi, there would be no problem.

I'm not a Bond's fan but to go to jail for this is BS. Charges of perjury are subjective (not all that are guilty are charged).

If the public liked him, he wouldn't be charged - the justice system shouldn't be based on popularity.

A-holes need love too!

How was Bonds any more defiant than McGwire, who essentially told Congress to go have carnal relations with themselves?

In retrospect, McGwire got lucky and broke down physically before the steroid investigation really picked up steam.
