Kanye; I LOVE his production, but everything else (live, lyrics, flow) sucks. But to say he doesn't make good music in the studio is just nuts.

If anybody could provide feedback on any of these bands...

Tiesto
Les Claypool
Talib Kweli
Rilo Kiley
Mastodon
Lupe Fiasco
Against Me
Ozomatli
Minus The Bear

caught a bit of mastodon, didnt really move around on stage as much as i expected but the music sounded great as usual.

lupe was cool, only caught a couple of his songs because we wanted to eat before kanye, little did we know that we had five more hours before he started. talib is the one act that i was really excited about seeing...and i passed it up to go to kanye. i thought that MAYBE kanye would bring him out for a song or two(since he's on college dropout), and it never happened.

if mos def or common would've been with talib...i would have gladly passed up kanye.

i got ticket #239 this year. who beat me?

kayne is a bitch. i'll be sure to mention how much he blows every chance i get (not that it will make a difference). i did manage to catch chali 2na with galactic as his band over on the other tent until almost sunrise.

never underestimate the power of a hippie to get jacked up during (sort of) a dead concert. two guys posted up right in front of me with a tank and a bag of balloons.

pretty easy to see where the lez in lez zeppelin came from. they rocked though.

i don't think it's possible to see umphreys and them put on bad show.

metallica was impressive. they were really into the crowd.

same with pearl jam. except they were amazing, not just impressive. loved to hear better man. it gave me chills. that song and myself have a story.

good to see OAR again. so good that i didn't want to shoot myself in the face during anyway, destination and black rock. and the cards being thrown during poker is incredibly stupid.

super jam was delayed because (i think) the gogol bordello entourage was had a late arriving flight. if i had no clue who those guys were, the second they got on the plane i'd be off of it. les had on some weird ass latex mullet wig (i think) on. i couldn't really tell. easily the weirdest show at bonnaroo. it had a real gypse type vibe or some ****. i liked it because it was unexpected.

our RV was a joke. long story, it **** itself on the way there and the way home. what a disaster. outside of it, the weekend was incredible.

i like the new wristbands. i never cared for the plastic shiny ones.

i got on the ferris wheel, did two rotations and had to get off. i plead my case to stay on with the worker. the guy didn't give a damn. i got off.

i have GOT to get in the fire tower.

my phone got wet on friday night and i think it's just now recovered. in the past i had always forgot a rain jacket. i'm glad i didn't this year. the clouds made a very comfortable friday and saturday. sunday was the usual baked in the dust bonnaroo.

taking a small chair inside is a must.

the portos were sick most of the weekend, but they were clean when i needed them to be.

security was a joke. again. we took beers in all weekend. i had a bag of sunflowers seeds and the lady tried to tell me i couldn't take them in. i went in through another line. they were so meticulous that you could just walk right by them when they were checking another bag. one time i walked right by the lady with a beer in my hand.

my allergies are killing me

i never made it to the showers. we were some nasty folks. the first thing my friend's sister said when we got in the car was 'you guys effing stink'.

gold bond is and will continue to be money at bonnaroo.

best food this year was spicy pie for pizza located at the outside the other tent entrance area and outback kates, located in the back left hand corner on the what stage. worst food was the pizza stand next to what stage on the right.

i noticed they ran out of bud light bottles almost everywhere. thank god i don't drink that crap and was able to continue drink my Bud in bottles. knowing which stands sell beer in cups and which sell bottles is a crucial piece of information. having cups blows, especially there with all those people.

i forgot to add that robert randolph and randal bramblett both sat in with panic including a freaking smoking version of ride me high.

yonder took a few jabs at kanye as well as RR.

i wish i would have taken advantage of the taxi service. 5 bucks anywhere you went.

i finally got to live my bonnaroo dream this year and got to camp in a section from a movie i actually liked. "zed's dead baby, zed's dead."

the VIP bleachers were removed this year. instead they built a hill, put a tent on top of it that was what looked like a bar, and placed hay bails up and down the hill.

seems like i always saw people waiting in line for the portos in centeroo. i estimate i spent a grand total of 2:45 waiting in line to pee and never once cut line. god bless those waiting in line.

i didn't see what section of the campground they said was closed. i walked to shakedown st from brushy branch rd and saw for a fact people walking to campsites behind the church and beyond to what was probably going to be the other tollbooth. also, i met a few folks who were down in the bottom right campground.

we got in line this year at 3:30 on thursday afternoon and waited in line about an hour and a half. we also got to take the left onto brush branch rd.

the NOLA tent wasn't as cool as the jazz tent last year, but dirty dozen brass band rocked in nonetheless. plus, 5 bones to a good cause.

How was Jack Johnson? His show a few years back was one of the highlights for me. I'll set the stage:

Cloudy afternoon, great vibe in the air, and just a little drizzle of rain. Clad-in-shorts-only fans climb a tree that you can't even reach completely around, maybe 40 feet from the stage, about 20+ feet up to the first branch and get the best seats in the house. Jack walks out, without saying a word, and starts: "Can't you see that it's just raining. . . ." and we all go wild. It just got better from there. Everytime I hear JJ, it takes me back. What a cool, smooth musician.

he was really good. his show:

Largehearted Boy: 2008 Bonnaroo Downloads and Streams

i like JJ myself as well. i saw him back in May of 02 and it might have been his first trip to the Easy Coast or right after Bushfire Fairytales came out, don't recall. he has this massive crowd and the people were really into him and i had no clue who he was. since then i've seen him twice. i was elsewhere during that bonnaroo 05 set. under a tent in fact.

i always expect his show to be boring and always end with loving the crap out of it. iavery chill, fun vibe follows him. it's a nice change of pace at times.

i also think a Pearl Jam tour with Jack Johnson opening would be a pretty cool time.

My brother told me last night that his friend's favorite show was Chromeo. Any of you catch it?
