Bonnaroo 2010

Bonnaroo is much, much better now than it was the first few years of the festival. I could care less whether or not Widespread Panic EVER does another show there. Phish was great for Bonnaroo. So were the Police, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. Last year I went from Bela Fleck to David Byne(Talking Heads) to Phish. The next day DBT to Mars Volta, to Springsteen, to Nine Inch Nails to Moe. There is NO festival in the world that offers as much musical variety as Bonnaroo, which BTW, is why it is dubbed as the best in the world

Again, if anybody needs anything while down let me know. I always extend a little hospitality in the bonnaroonies direction if we can, for the most part a very peaceful crowd of good folks.

Michael Franti, people!

Never been to Bonnaroo before... this will be my first one. Should I prepare for it in the same manner as I would for any other music festival?

This lineup is so bad it's the first year in 6 years that I'm not going. Utter crap...we're heading down to Wanee Fest in two weeks....out to be a blast...

I'm in...I think this year's lineup is better than last years...I'll be there for my Jr. year.

I looked at the full lineup, and I think I just talked myself into going. If I can't find a partner-in-crime then I'll just have to make new friends when I'm there. That's a solid solid lineup. Weezer; KOL; Phoenix; Spektor; LCD; Black Keys; Deadmau5; Kid Cudi; Raaaaaaaaandy; Wale (DC represent); Blues Traveler (they're still alive?); B.o.B (who I like so much that it could be fairly characterized as a mancrush); countless others I'm skipping over for brevity; and, in the words of Frank the Tank, maybe something really cool that I don't even know about.

I spent a few hrs on a sunday just typing in artists on iTunes and just previewing some of their music. Deadmau5 is one i can't miss...definitely getting some glowsticks for that. We could exchange numbers before we go if you're needing some people to hangout with...I have a good size crew going...

I am really sad that I will be missing the Avett Brothers, Kings of Leon, and Tori.

I went Friday and Saturday. I stayed until the music stopped playing, which was until about 6:30am by the Sonic Stage (oonsah oonsah oonsah). I do have some beef with the scheduling (too much going on during the day; dead spots in the evening; followed by too much going on late late in the evening), but overall I thought it was a really good time and an amazing collection of artists. The bands I hadn't even heard about were really good (Trombone Shorty; Carolina Chocolate Drops; Eclectic Method; etc.).

It's exhausting, but I'll probably go again.

Also, to those on here dissing on Kings of Leon: if you'd have heard them at b-roo, you'd think differently. When they covered Pixies, the place was electric.

That's because they covered Pixies. It's sad if the highlight of a show is a cover.

Were you there? I didn't think so.

Their set had no weak points. The fact that they did a cover was awesome because (a) I've never heard them cover a song before, (b) they covered a great song, and (c) and they did the song better than Pixies has ever done it.

We get it, KOL is your favorite band and everything that they lay there greasy hands on turn to gold in your eyes. But you lose all credibility when talking about KOL when you say things like the above post and when you say that they didn't change there sound for their latest album. Your fandom is out of control.

Oh and BTW, if they played anything off of OBTN, then their set had week points.

I watched a part of the KOL set on the youtube simulcast. They were rocking pretty good.

They showed a half hour of the Ween set as well. Unfortunately, that's about all I caught. The youtube feed was perfect.
