Boo Carter "Having conversations about his future" [He’s staying]

You don’t transfer that many places without baggage. Same was said for Nolan White
We need to stop caring about that type of stuff. Kid played hard all year and is super talented. We need more talent in the locker room. I don’t care if a recruit is a trouble maker and/or diva. I just want to win. It will require taking swings on kids like that to take the next step imo. JUST WIN BABY!

Don’t disagree about winning. Our best teams in the 90’s had questionable character. But his moving schools can’t go unchecked if he’s flirting here with it. It’s either him, his family/handlers or both.

There’s no telling who all get in these kid’s ear with not so sound advice. I believe we would all use leverage if it meant a couple more hundred grand. Plus, i think Boo deserves to be on offense more. He’s electric.

Random, but i always think back to those agents that got in Scotty Hopson’s ear to go pro early.

At least we finally paid a guy. Boo definitely deserves it. He's a budding superstar. Now let's find some more players like him to upgrade our roster. Cause we're definitely not where we want to be right now.
The only way to upgrade the roster is to start by upgrading the coaching. This has been mentioned on VN ad nauseam. Find some assistant coaches and coordinators who are proven elite developers of talent and who are not afraid to think outside the box. That includes using individual personnel differently and/or in ways that play to their strengths. Put them in position to succeed and many will succeed.

is Spyre bankrupt all of a sudden? We have plenty of money but not bothering to get anyone and letting key guys go. Carter should not have to ask to be used properly. Our staff is losing a lot of goodwill. 3 active guys on roster at WR. At minimum we now need 4 receivers in portal.

I am glad this worked out. He's a huge talent. Possibly this generation's Eric Berry. For the record, I always felt we should've have given Berry a real shot to play on offense too. For all of those on here saying we shouldn't cater to players demands and let him walk, just imagine if we did let him walk and became "Travis Hunter" for another team next season. Heupel would've never lived it down. Definitely not on this board.

Boo an upgrade. Mike Matthews a huge upgrade. If not for the cool name nobody would know who Squirrel is. Been on campus, what, 3 years and hasn’t made a single above-average play
Made one of the best catches of any TN rec for a TD at Alabama 2 years ago. He has made numerous big plays but has not done anything lately.

Travis Hunter is dynamic and was a unicorn in a weak league.
I don’t think he played a game all year where he had to like up across from an NFL player multiple times. It looks like Boo will likely have to do that for at least 3 games. I really hope Jourdan Thomas, Kaleb Beasley, Marcus Goree, and Tre Poteat are ready to go next year. We could honestly really use Harrison back to really give Boo the relief he needs at star so he can become the best WR he can be

If used properly, he could have a Percy Harvin type career on offense. Anyone remember him at UF? He killed us every time we faced them. He has the same skill set. Maybe not quite the breakaway speed, but close. I personally think his talent is a bit of a waste on defense.
I always thought him and Cam Seldon would’ve thrived most in that type of a role where they get 7-8 carries and 7-8 targets a game. Unfortunately we just don’t run that type of offense. Oddly enough I think Daune Morris fits best in that role too
