Boo Carter VS Egbuka

Its going to come down to when those plays happen, for either side. If Egbuka wins early or in the middle of the field, it may not be the end of the world. If Boo can shut him down in the red zone or get a late turnover, then he will have more impact that Egbuka breaking off a big gain early.

Jeremiah Smith is also a beast of a receiver. The secondary will have to be ready if we can't pressure Howard. They like to throw and who wouldn't with those two guys.
I was about to say, is Smith hurt and I haven’t heard about it? He’s their leading receiver.

He's not hurt but he's young.

Egbuka is an established first rounder but we should take notice that Smith is as successful as he is with Egbuka out there.

Edit: Egbuka may be drawing a lot of attention making it easier for Smith. I've not really watched a lot of their games.

Hope I'm wrong but if it turns out to be a passing game I'm afraid we'll come out on the short end of the stick.
It either team has to throw to move the ball, the game will come down to pass protection. That was the difference against UGA. Can we protect better than we did against UGA and can we rush the passer better than we did against UGA?

They will pick on Boo in this game, but he needs to do what he did against Ryan Williams and make Egbuka pay for each catch with a legal, but hard hit.
Ryan Williams is a skinny little guy (did I mention he's only 17?) but Smith and Egbuka are not little at all.

While he'll need to make them pay, it won't be as easy as hitting Williams.

It also won't be as easy to catch passes. Have you heard that it's going to be 20 degrees?

Egbuka scares me more than their outside guys even though Smith and Tate are very good. I’m high on Boo, but covering Egbuka will be a tall task for a freshman, especially given that a lot of Egbuka’s routes will likely be over the middle. Key will be keeping leverage and being physical.

First and foremost the D-Line needs to get it done. If the D-Line gives their QB the same time they gave Beck then it may be an embarrassing loss. Don't give him time to get it to their receivers well into their routes.

I have read that this will be a key match up in the game, and a lot of analyst are thinking Egbuka will get the best of Boo. I for one am confident in Boo and think he’ll make a lot of key plays in this game.
This is definitely a huge mismatch. Hopefully he will have some help. To me, this is the biggest mismatch. Their dynamic receivers vs our secondary.

Idk. I think both our corners are fairly solid. Their receivers are just so damn good though. Our Dline though should be able to generate pressure. If they can’t get pressure we’re probably cooked.

How did these teams keep Ohio State's offense in check, and is Tennessee's defense capable of defending Ohio State as well or better than these teams did?

I didn't watch the Indiana game so IDK what happened, but Ohio State only had 316 yards of total offense against them.
