Does anyone think that considering their coach and his history of OU that although I’m certain he hasn’t said a thing about this being important to him personally, that they might feel that for him? Like this is one they kinda feel a little extra “let’s get this one for coach?”

Just curious

And until this year he was one of just two SEC-quality cornerbacks this staff has had (the other being Alontae Taylor).
I’m referring to him talking when he was getting beaten, such as 2022 SC game. I have no issue with trash talk as long as it’s not before the game is played and not when getting beat. I laugh when I see players talk and taunt when they’re getting cooked. Saw that on a high school game recently, a team losing 28-0 and the kid just jawing with all his might after a tackle. I don’t get it.

The worst is a defender who doesn't make a play, or makes it late or poorly, and immediately gets in the face of the offensive player that made him look bad. Hard for me to understand the energy applied to talk rather than improving play.
Kamal Hadden?

Except OU's offense is very average. If bulletin board material makes them suddenly play well, Venables has some major issues.
I agree. I don’t mean in that regard, I just think it’s unwise to say stuff like this before the game is played because you look foolish if you don’t play well, as those two did. We still talk about that, 8 years later.

If you believe stats OU is only better in about 2 offensive categories than NCST. Total Offense NCST is better. and they played TN. OU runs a little better than NCST.

I get where he's coming from. Last game we defended a slant, boys. A SLANT! Have we ever done that before?! I'm with Boo.
No, my good sir.
I’ve often equated our unguarded wide open middle of the field to that of a 13 year old girl who wears tops 3 sizes too small to bare her middle belly to the world much to the chagrin of her father and her middle school principal.

Love Boo but I wish we would keep all this crap off social media. Show up pissed off and feeling like the underdog.
There is no we. It’s them. The players are kids and young adults who live on social media. It’s just the way it is and no one will stop it.
