Booing Joe Paterno

I wouldnt "boo" JoePa. He's one of the few, if not the last, icons left as a head coach.

He might have been an icon, key words "might have been," in the past. How do you conclude that he is an icon now? Longevity? Or, once an icon, always an icon? Is Bobby Bowden an icon?

Speaking of Joe Paterno and the drama, the drama that he and PSU are pretending he is still coaching, the following article is interesting.
This Could Be Joe Paterno’s Last Season. We Need to Let It Be.
College Football tyduffy August 16th. 2010, 3:10pm

Joe Paterno told the media not to ask him whether he’s going to die, but, given his condition, that’s all anyone can think about. The legendary coach is 83 and markedly less ebullient. According to one writer’s honest observation, he may not make it through the season.

Here is a description of Paterno answering questions from Mike Gross’ Lancaster Online column.

The problem was the mechanics (for lack of a better word) of his speech.

Words took a long, labored time getting out. There was elaborate, juicy slurring.

His head occasionally seemed overtaken by gravity, his chin dropping to his chest and his lower lip gaping open.

Heartbreaking.

I still laugh thinking about him a few years ago at Ohio St. having the runs and taking off running to the locker room in the middle of the game.

Yeah, that's just hilarious. It's so funny to think about an old guy crapping his pants in public. Ha ha ha, man, that is true comedy. You're a jackass.
