From being in the stands for every single home game during Lofton's career at UT, saying that was the most impressive shooting perfomance says a ton. In basketball, there are times when a player rises above and beyond every expectation and even though the guy was clad in blue and white, that was a remarkable thing to witness. That loss really didn't bother me as much as I would have expected walking into TBA. It wasn't that we couldn't defend him, it was that he was undefensable that day
He's the only Tennessee coach to do it. Not sure if anyone else has done it. I doubt it.
How does any of that relate to beating Kentucky three times in one season?Ray Mears 5 wins in a row vs UK over 3 seasons starting in 1974 - Bernard swore he would never lose to UK again and didn't (after a mildkitten fan threw a cigarette into his hair? rumor or fact ?)
74 UT won 103-98 Knoxville
75 90-88 Lexington and 92-85 Knoxville
76 71-67 Lexington and 81 -79 Knoxville
No need to apologize. Just having a little fun with you. Hard to say about the SEC Tournament issue you pose. Mears didn't have great success in the postseason, but a league tourney is different than playing unfamiliar foes in the NCAAs or NIT.So Sorry - just was reading ahead to the next question of longest modern day streak against UK
No SEC tourney during Ray Mear's era - would have been interesting to see results if there had been.
you do realize that lots of people on here would be considered "boosters" right?
