until Hart proves me wrong, I will support him in his efforts to get the best coach available.

The one positive that I take away from Hart's silence is that all of these so called coaching lists could be bogus. Seeing that Hart has not said anything, not sure how anyone truly knows who he ha on hi radar.

What scares me with Hart is the fact that he has not hired a coach in over 24 years. This is a hire that he must get right. Not saying that he won't get it right, just nervous based on last couple years.

Hart is in a lose ....lose situation. UT's a train wreck and no one wants the huge task of starting behind the 8 ball
but you really can't blame them. The University of Tennessee did this to itself.....the other top SEC schools protect and invest in their Football Programs....UT failed miserably......unfortunately the fans suffer the most

Considering nothing that resembles a Dooley clone has been interviewed kind of a dumb fear.

I would have thought that if he didn't have some things lined up and a sense of urgency he would have kept Dooley until the last game.. I think this is nothing but a cluster!!!
What's new???

Maybe we can get a coach next week. saban has some free time now so bama dave can get his instructions on who to hire.

I dont think it will be another cheap Dooley hire. But remember the Athletic department lost almost $4 million this year! And Hamilton left little cash reserves while Auburn and Arkansas have been banking it.

Maybe it has nothing to do with Gruden for a lot of folks. I personally am tired of zero credible info coming from the AD and I am sick of the list of our alleged top candidates.

Most of the names I am hearing are middle-to-lower tier. You usually don't beat good programs with those type coaches. Let me guess... you probably are still sore Dooley was fired..

And where are you hearing those names? From the same sources that gave you Grudenmania. Hart is doing the right thing in keeping everything quiet.

It's like getting a date to the high school prom. How interested is a girl going to be if you tell her she was number 8 on your list?

We will know who is right......hopefully sooner rather than later.

The list of candidates this time dwarfs the Dooley coaching search candidates. Sorry if that is something you can't comprehend. UT is about to hire a great coach. If you had not lost your mind in the Gruden madness you might be able to see that.

There's plenty of credible sources that Gruden had interest. Some of the same media that now say there was no interest, no meeting, and no offer are the same people who gave us reports about Gruden having expressed interest and even went so far as to consult potential assistants. If Gruden was never a candidate, why did he remove himself as a candidate? Somebody dropped the ball and the buck stops with the AD since he is the one who said it's a one man search committee.

So we are getting Patterson, Stoops, Peterson, or Gundy? Don't see any other great hires out there.

If lane kiffin had never happened, hart would be among the worst things that has ever happened to Tennessee football.
This is exactly the sort of thing I mentioned in another thread. Is the UT athletic department and our academics so low that after all these years we had to hire a person as our AD that had zero ties with us, but was an assistant AD at our biggest rival due to no Vols being qualified? I'm not a real happy camper right now.

That is the exact reason I think we should get Petrino, keep our offensive staff. Pay good money to get Chavis as DC/Assistant HC. Move Sal to LB coach and keep the buyout cash.

I say fire Hart. Maybe I change my mind but but so far I tend to believe he messed up the home run hire. That's just my speculation anyway.

I really hope the candidate lists we are seeing are bogus because NONE of them are anywhere near the caliber that kind of money should buy.. We go from Jon Gruden to Charlie Strong, Al Golden and Jimbo Fisher??? You have got to be kidding.. When all the details come out on the Gruden debacle I believe a lot of people are going to be very pissed...

Dave Hart, this is quite possibly the MOST IMPORTANT hire in the history of Tennessee Football. For God's sake, please give it the proper respect and effort it deserves..

Man should be fired before he can contract one of his budget hires. I hope the rest of you are as PO as I am watching the SECCG and we sit at home even below Vandy.

It just depends on whether Tennessee is going to a football powerhouse or not. There's always Basketball. It just is not what I remember UT athletics being about in my lifetime.

Wow this thread is bringing the heat. Glad I stumbled in here from the Gruden thread.
