I don't know but it's certainly not the Rose Bowl.

It's not the Rose Bowl so it doesn't really matter. Hope it isn't the Peach Bowl though cause we can't play in the Georgia Dome.

Speak for yourself. I don't care what our record is in the Dome, I like it when they play an hour from my house.

Music City, Peach, Outback, Capital One...It doesn't matter casue it isn't the Rose Bowl.

I think even Outback and Captial One are very long shots at this point.

We need to pull hard for two SEC teams to get BCS bids.

Why even start this thread? We are 3-3 and look worse than any year in recent memory save the year we went 5-6. Bowl Game? We need to worry about the Gamecocks only!!

if we lost another game we will be lucky to get the peach bowl. Id say were looking at music city bowl and possibly not even getting a bowl bid if we lose again.

If we lose again and become bowl eligible. I am sure a bowl will select us. Come on, this is Tennessee we're talking about. Someone's gotta choose us, right. Seriously. They will choose us for something. I hate getting picked last, but at least we got picked.

If we lose (and that is a BIG if) to ND and win out, we will be 7-4 with our 4 losses coming to 4 ranked teams. All 4 teams in the top 18 teams in the nation, 3 in the top 10, and 2 in the top 5. EVERY game we were in till the end. And I think that we will have a shot at ND but we will see. So whoever thinks that we are 7-4 and not getting a bowl bid is crazy. If you want to root for the NC or nothing every year that is fine. You are going to be upset about 99% of the time. I will take a bowl bid over nothing anyday! :twocents:

I believe we are below the Peach now, because of on field performance, and the fact we have been there so often. Ticket sales have continuaously dropped there, so don't expect the Peach Bowl officials to be salavating at the thought of another UT appearance.

Here's how I see it shaking out:
7-4 and we have a shot at the Music City or maybe Peach
6-5 and we are in the Independence or Houston Bowls depending on how many SEC teams are bowl Eligible.

SEC Bowl Tie-Ins
Sugar (Georgia/Alabama)
Capital One (Georgia/Alabama)
Outback (Auburn)
Cotton (LSU)
Peach (Florida)
Music City Bowl (Tennessee/South Carolina)
Independence (Tennessee/South Carolina/Vanderbilt)
Houston (Tennessee/South Carolina/Vanderbilt/Ole Miss)

Any chance that UT would refuse a bowl bid. I know USC and Clemson were both bowl eligible last year but refused a bowl bid due to players fighting in their final game. I seem to remember a few years ago when someone (maybe Notre Dame) started the season ranked really high then had a pretty lackluster year (6-5 or 7-4) and they said they would not play a bowl game because they did not deserve it with such a bad record. Any chance this is our response? I would rather UT refuse a bowl than play the Music City.

It was the 1996 Notre Dame team that finished 8-3 after expecting to compete for a national Championship and they refused all bowl invitations. Sound familiar? If we can't at least win out then this team does not need a bowl game. they need to stay in Knoxville and lift weights, run sprints, recruit some fresh blood, and learn how to play offense.

Notre Dame is an independent team.

UT has a conference to think about, and would not consider turning down money that would be distributed to conference teams, while having other team's bowl $ distributed to them. It would be SEC suicide.

If we are bowl eligible we will receive a bowl bid period.

IMHO, it's up to the players to accept or decline a bowl. The players have played hard and they deserve the right to choose. In the S.Car and Clemson cases, the school admins decided because of the poor actions of the players.
