Bowl Predictions

I think Florida plays in the sugar bowl and Auburn plays in the other BCS bowl and UT gets the shaft again probably playing in the Peach Bowl playing Wake Forest.

If Tennessee doesn't get into the BCS because a 1-loss Auburn and a 2-loss Florida team DID get in, we wouldn't be getting shafted.

I agree with that, assuming that Florida's losses are to Auburn twice. If UT beats Arky and Arky beats Florida in the SEC title game, then all bets are off.

If the Vols win out, They will jump the loser of the SEC title game.

I don't think you can assume that. If its 11-1 Florida versus 11-1 Auburn, then the loser has a great shot at retaining an at large bid over 11-1 UT. It would probably come down to how far the loser of that game drops in the polls. And don't forget, its an at large bid. So the bowl making that choice is not bound to take the higher BCS-ranked team.

But, right now, all you can do is focus on winning. You have some tough games left and the discussion is moot if you don't start with a win over LSU this weekend and that, my friend, is no given.

If your trying to justify an 11-1 UT team playing a 9-3 type team from the ACC in the peach bowl is not the shaft dont even go there. The BCS stinks.

There is no justification for a top 10 team in the SEC being stuck playing a team from a weaker conference like the ACC and not even ranked in the top 15. Which has already happened once before and stands a good chance of happening again.

The loser of the SEC title game won't get in. A 1 loss UT team will jump them. The problem is that a 1 loss UT team won't jump a 1 loss Auburn team that doesn't get to the SECCG.

So...Auburn needs to either lose another regular season game or Arkansas needs to lose 2 while Auburn wins out. That way UT is the only 1 loss team in the conference aside from, perhaps, the SEC champ, if UT wins out.

It is really simple, no matter how complicated I make it in my explanation:tease2:

I didn't mention the Peach Bowl, because that would be improbable, but not unheard of. I specifially stated my opinion about the BCS part of it.

I kind of hope West Va. makes it to the National Championship. They'll get killed by Ohio State and every can see how weak they really were.

Wrong. Everyone would hail Ohio State as the greatest college football team of all time. Just slightly greater than the 2005 USC team.
