I always that AU gave the $$$. HA

I have no clue. It has obviously been something that they have been accused of. I am in no way supporting or denying those claims, nor am I alleging that Butch is doing anything under-handed here.

I mean, Vandy is a better team than they have been in the past. No doubt about it. But the teams that they beat in UGA and FL were but a mere shell of what they were in the beginning of the season when we played them. Even as bad as our defense has been playing, our defense has still had to deal with MUCH better offenses than what either Vandy or UK will put on the field. I really like our chances, and as I said long before the season started, I'd be happy with 6-6 in CBJs first year, especially with this schedule we've had to endure.

Vandy averages 32 points per game! The Vols average 25 per game. You do the math.

Better yet, just look at stats against SEC teams and the numbers reflect 29 points to 17. UT has 11 TD's on the year against SEC teams compared to Vanderbilt's 23 TD's.

I just don't see UT scoring enough points to get the upset. Vanderbilt missed Krause last week and he looks to be playing this week against UK, hopefully he can stay healthy.

Night Game, ought to be fun.

You are actually bragging that we might get an invite to the Liberty Bowl????? In Memphis?????? If we win out????? This really hits home as to how far Volunteer football has fallen.

One thing that is consistent with Vol football is a fan base who is so clueless as to think that going to a bowl, any bowl, after a two year absence, is anything less than a huge step in the right direction.

Its like the ugly kid turning down the ugly kid for a dance at Prom because he's waiting for the cheerleader to ask him.

Apologies to anyone who was the ugly kid, and apologies to anyone who was the cheerleader.

There are only three teams that both UT and Vandy have played that looked even remotely similar at the time that UT and Vandy both played them.

APSU, Mizzou and SCAR.

Compare the stats against common opponents and not uncommon opponents and the picture becomes different.

Against those teams that were largely constituted the same, UT scored 89 to Vandy's 91...whereas Tennessee had 52 points scored on them to Vandy's 89. Bottom line, against common similar opponents, UT won 2, Vandy won 1.

UGA and UF were skeletons of the teams that UT played when Vandy did.

Just my opinion on the whole thing anyway...

If we make it we will probably get the Music City Bowl and Ole Miss will get the Liberty Bowl!

He has a good point. Florida's offense is atrocious, which fed right into the hands of VU's defenders.

I originally thought we made Florida better by injuring Brantley and having them put in Murphy, but I (at this point) don't see a difference between the two.

Florida's now a wagon with two wheels left. One of the hubs of the wheel reads "South Carolina" and the other hub reads "Florida State."

They're cooked.

We turned Florida over enough to blow them out but we thought winning the turnover battle meant giving them the ball more. That was the ugliest televised game of the season.

I am surprised at that. After watching this team in person on Saturday I think it is a stretch to say we should beat anybody. Many do, but many players just don't give maximum effort. It was a shameful display of lack if contact. It is hard for me to fathom that we have people starting who won't block, or who don't try to get off of a block.
Have our corners gotten off a block in the last 3 games? Or our defensive ends kept contain?
We actually had wedge blockers on kickoff Saturday who didn't TOUCH a single player. That's why we couldn't get a kickoff return out past the 20.
The other frustrating thing is that there were 3 major clips right in front of the ball carrier and the official on 3 of their big plays on special teams. I was astonished they didn't get flagged for those plays. Just an all around bad day on the field for UT.

So because we lost to the second best team in the SEC, who is also the best rushing team in the SEC we shouldn't be able to beat anyone? Pretty dumb logic.
