Bowling Green interested in Bajakian

I think it is crazy for anyone to judge a coach off of one season of work whether it be Jancek, Dooley or Saban. You guys act like he was the DC there for 3-4 years and was terrible every year when the reality is he was a co-coordinator for one season.

If coaches were judged off of one season of work there would be a lot less coaches because for every coach who comes in and has success in year one there is one who had failures in year one. Next year will be the year we find out if theses guys can coach or not.

Is it not interesting that Georgia still has defense problems without them there?

anyone wanting any coach on this staff to leave, not to mention one of the more important ones (OC) is a moron... thats all this team needs is another spring practice of learning a totally new system and coach... let these coaches and players have some time to get use to a system... the fan base we have is amazing... most of the time in a good way but in cases like this it is in a bad bad way.

I can think of words for some of our fan base other than "amazing" .

You know what would be mean? If someone went to Bowling Green's football message boards and started a Gruden rumor.

We could bring Randy Sanders back think he got a bad rap while he was here. Fulmer had him as a puppet OC as he was calling the plays from the sideline.:D

Sorry but Florida was not putrid when we played them their defense at that point was pretty top notch. Yes Butch Jones made a mistake in starting Peterman when he should have started Worley. Yes he made some bad decisions in the Vandy game, big deal. No the talent wasn't there to be "much better", maybe a little bit better.

I consider this season as a success, especially since we almost beat a top 10 team and beat the #11 ranked team in the country. Were there mistakes? Yes. That's to be expected from a HC in his first year with an absolute brutal schedule. IMO the SC win trumps the Vandy loss.

UF stunk and to say otherwise is laughable. Their D was pretty good (average for them) and their O was horrible, and not only did they stink they also tried to give us the win. Starting Peterman was second only to leaving him in for 4 turnovers in boneheaded moves.

If Bajakian leaves, would CBJ consider calling his own plays?

Doubt it. People like to call it "Butch's offense", but it's easily as much Jake's as it is his. They've been together since Jones first started as a head coach. Not that Jones isn't smart, but I've always gotten the sense that Jake is the playbook nerd behind Jones' player motivation and CEO-type approach. If Jake leaves, Butch likely promotes someone up from within to call the plays.

I assume by "bad decisions" in the Vandy game you mean the fake punt by Palardy. If we hadn't converted those 4th downs against Georgia, would those have been "bad decisions" too? I respect the hell out of a coach going for it in that situation, just like I respected the hell out of Brady Hoke for going for 2 on Ohio State to win the game. To me, it tells me that the coach has confidence in the team he's trained to execute the play, to finish the drill. It's the exact opposite of coaching scared, i.e. Dooley. While Michigan didn't convert on Hoke's gamble, he was playing to win, just like Butch MF Stones does. I wasn't thrilled with the results of the fake, but I loved the decision.

No I don't mean the fake punt. That was a gutsy call and it showed me BJ has guts and is not afraid to pull out any stop to win. The bad decisions I meant were starting Peterman in the UF game and seemingly restricting Dobbs in the Vandy game. Now I know less than zero about coaching and am sure CBJ had his reasons for those decisions. All I am saying is CBJ did a good job coaching this season and if I had to pick a few bad decisions he made, those would be my 2.

Opinion: Brady Hoke Made Right Call Going For Two-Point Conversion « CBS Detroit

Notice the part where Hoke cited his defense's inability to stop osu as the main reason for the decision to go for two. I liked the call as well, but that is a far cry from saying he had confidence in his team. Quite the opposite really. The fake punt was terrible, but the kicking game wasn't exactly on point during the vandy game either.

It is. But don't say it too often. UGA fans still think Richt isn't the main problem. We don't want to wake them up.

I think Richt is a good guy. I also think he has limitations as a coach.

I don't know. I have a couple of Georgia fans in the family who have thought Richt was a problem for awhile now.

Honestly, I think Richt gets too much criticism. True, he has never won a national championship at Georgia and probably never will and his teams do often underachieve given their talent. But part of that is because he has brought in a ton of talent over the years. And Georgia fans should be happy that he's never entered the "Fulmer-zone" where you can just mark down a match-up with a certain coach or program as a loss at the beginning of each year. Richt doesn't go into those long streaks where he just can't beat this guy or that guy. You feel like he always has a chance to win (of course, he also always has a chance to lose too).

I can understand Georgia fans' frustrations, but it could certainly be alot worse.

You can't mark down that one team he will lose to, but you can mark down that he will lose one or two games a year and mostly at the beginning of the year.

The one year that he had his chance at a title was when he had David Greene and had recruited DJ Shockley. He promised Shockley some playing time and was rotating him in for a couple series a game. They were undefeated playing UF, and Shockley threw a pick 6 and UGA lost by 7. He just can't get through a season without stumbling. But, I agree that I would take their problems right now.
