It's this time of year, idiot talking heads and beat writers attempt to rate conferences on meaningless Bowl Game outcomes. Of course that is unless the SEC wins more than they lose and in that case they will play it down.

And for that reason alone, I am pulling for Augburn in the ONLY one that counts. If I cant be there, I do love the rest of the ESPNers, Media and US of A in general hating to see the SEC win once again.

I was in Arizona to watch the First BCS W and goodness haven't we had fun since then!!

And oh by the way, the BCS got it right in just about all the years it has been in existence. Wait til next few years shake out, it will be down right hilarious!!

This. Hey OP did you see what happened with Lambert today . . . UT fans that keep rooting for the SEC are missing the point. The SEC has been dominant for 7 to 8 years now - how is that working out for TN. I want these teams we play and recruit against to SUCK!

We did just fine in the 90's when it was TN and Florida as the only top 15 teams from the SEC year in and year out. I want to go back to ole miss, miss state, UK, vandy, etc. being like high school teams. Along with LSU AUB Bama having bad seasons every other year.

TN is best when the rest of the conference is down.

F the SEC! GO VOLS!!! I used to be that guy who pulled for the SEC teams who weren't playing UT...have come to believe that's stupid.

Other SEC teams' success on the field and in recruiting hurts my beloved Vols. Look no further than Lambert headed to Auburn as the most recent example... Go FSU vs auburn in the title game!!!! For a day, I'll be a Seminole in January... F Auburn and the rest of the SEC... Go Vols!!!!

First off, the scenario you painted above ain't happening. The other 13 teams in the SEC suck? Don't think so. Too many good programs, resources, passion for football.

But let's look at another scenario.....Rewind to the 1990s.... Georgia was up and down average, Vandy, Ky and SCar all sucked... it was a 2 team race between us and Florida in the East, which was by far the stronger of the 2 divisions...we were 1 win vs Nebraska and a loss by the #1 team in the country away from winning the NC in '97. The next year, 1998, we won the NC. The 1990s was the most successful decade of UT football since the Neyland era.

F the rest of the SEC....the better everyone else is, the more difficult the challenge for UT to return to being a top National program..... GO 'NOLES!!!!!

The SEC sucking didn't hurt Tennessee getting into NCG in 97 or 98 nor Florida in 95 and 96. Only Auburn 04 didn't make it in, in a year when there were 3 undefeated teams and they were clearly the third best team of the three.
