Fast forward 5 years and everybody in the SEC sucks but us. There is one other undefeated team and 3 1 loss teams selected over us for the playoff because the SEC sucks. What will your argument be then? I'm proud to be a member of the toughest conference in the land, and I want it to stay that way. GO SEC!!!

Exactly.
Just think OSU was gonna make it in the NC game this year until they...oh wait nevermind, bad example.

Exactly again. Played no one all year yet if they had beaten a decent Mich St team they're playing FSU instead of Auburn.

The SEC shouldn't lose in the bowls. I will predict 8-2 record. I think Miss St and Auburn have the best chances of losing. Maybe Georgia.

I'll be praying to all that is holy that vaginabilt gets their arse handed to em. But, they'll probably have 7 total yards of offense and win 45-3 after Houston turns the ball over 6 times inside their own 2.

I used to care but the losing has worn on me. Now I'm just bitter and want everyone else to lose too.

The SEC sucking didn't hurt Tennessee getting into NCG in 97 or 98 nor Florida in 95 and 96. Only Auburn 04 didn't make it in, in a year when there were 3 undefeated teams and they were clearly the third best team of the three.

Plus had the 4 team playoff been in place, they would have made it.

If Tennessee isn't doing well, I don't care who beats the crap out of each other. Only Tennessee wins help Tennessee. Wins of other SEC teams make our life more difficult.

True fans do not pull for Rivals. Most ignorant thing I've ever heard of. Next you'll want us to all hold hands and sing kumbaya together. Piss on the other schools I hope they get the hell beat out them in every game.

Pretty sure Reed committed to Bama and Lamin to SCar. Unless he can flip em, which I doubt, they're off the board.

They can all lose, but I personally hope alabama gets annihilated beyond all recognition. Some of us just want to watch the state of alabama burn.

First off, the scenario you painted above ain't happening. The other 13 teams in the SEC suck? Don't think so. Too many good programs, resources, passion for football.

But let's look at another scenario.....Rewind to the 1990s.... Georgia was up and down average, Vandy, Ky and SCar all sucked... it was a 2 team race between us and Florida in the East, which was by far the stronger of the 2 divisions...we were 1 win vs Nebraska and a loss by the #1 team in the country away from winning the NC in '97. The next year, 1998, we won the NC. The 1990s was the most successful decade of UT football since the Neyland era.

F the rest of the SEC....the better everyone else is, the more difficult the challenge for UT to return to being a top National program..... GO 'NOLES!!!!!

We all have our own feelings on this and most aren't likely to be swayed by others arguments. I agree it ain't happening. But you and other's seem to wish that the rest of the SEC would suck to allow a better record for TN. So my scenario was assuming that wish was granted. I'll put it this way. From the movie Pure Country. "Funny thing about that little white speck on the top of chicken $hit..that little white speck is chicken $hit too!". I don't wish to be a white speck!

Hmmmm.... I hate Alabama.... Buuuuut I also like to watch overrated Bob get beat in BCS games. I guess the outcome of that one in is win-win for me.

Dude, it's as simple as this for me. Every other team in the SEC is our direct competitor... both for wins and recruits. I do not want my direct competitors to have success, especially when it comes at my expense.

If all 14 SEC teams were ranked 1--14 nationally and UT was number 1 and the National Championship then fine. But I don't care watch my rivals win championships and have much more success than me. Call me crazy.

Edit: BTW, with regards to your pithy chicken Shiite analogy, when Tennessee won the NC in 1998, there were exactly 3 other SEC teams ranked in the final Top 20 poll.... Florida at #8, Georgia #19, Arkansas #20...no Bama, no Auburn, no LSU, no SCar...... thoughts?

Being an SEC homer is like when you see ugly girls hanging out with hot girls

You aren't getting any guys hanging out with them. Its better if you make yourself look better than them, then you can attract them away from the other

Ok but by that analogy wouldn't you say the group of hot girls is more appealing and will attract more attention immediately? As opposed to the B1G, which has a bunch of ugly girls and one hot girl (Michigan State being the hot girl ........ Ohio State is a tranny)

I'm not sure there's anything much more pathetic than for fans of a team who didn't make a bowl trying to brag about the other 11 conference teams winning their bowl game.

Almost as pathetic as rooting for a team that hasn't won a World Series in 105 years. :) j/k

Auburn used their miracle win over bammer and their BCS title game to come in and take one of our most important recruits. I hope FSU stomps a mud hole in that cow trash college.

Dude, it's as simple as this! We disagree! I wish success for other SEC teams when playing outside the conference and you don't!
