I have decided its better to get an average qb, one that will stick around . Just an average Joe.

2-1...lost a heartbreaker at the swamp. All the negativity doesn't tell you where the team is but, sure does provide commentary on the fans. I am thankful for the fans who understand the ups and downs and press on through to the next game. We have to go to Bama this year. UGA coming here will not be easy. Sure we could lose. Why not try to reach out to the team and express you support instead of kicking them?

I predicted 9-3 this summer. Now, maybe 7-8 wins.
Maybe 7...think it's about right. We win OOC's, Vandy, Miz, and split UK/SC is our best path to 7-5. That being said, the unfortunate thing is that other SEC teams like Bama, even UGA, and certainly TaM have shown vulnerabilities...shame we don't look like we're ready to "take the leap"...at this point, SC looks more primed to leap us this year and that Knoxville game will have huge impact on our season. In regard to Nico, I think if we're 0-3 thru SC, TaM, Bama, I think by that time Nico will start vs KY. Whether good results or not, at least Saban always "DOES SOMETHING BOLD"...Tua for Hurts, totally changed offense to pass heavy, pulled 2-0 starting QB this week. Hope JH is a little more bold in everything. We didn't have a sense of urgency yesterday in anything in 1H. You could tell we had better focus in 2H, but too much damage and continued self inflicted wounds.

The SEC isn’t impressive this year. We can beat anyone on our schedule but coaches have to position the team to succeed and players need to be at least play with effort and up to their abilities. Wanted a win last night but we haven’t played well offensively against our first 2 scrub opponents so it shouldn’t have been much of a surprise. Spring camp + fall camp and now 3 games into the season and this looks nothing like the explosive offense we had last year.

That’s what bothers me more than anything. (Well outside of our continuing issues with the secondary.) We have an offense that was #1 in the nation last year and then struggle to put 16 on a very mediocre Florida team. Couldn’t find our butt with either hand.

I love Joe Milton for his loyalty and he is quite entertaining with that arm but I’m afraid he is what he is. Just don’t believe he’s going to evolve any further. All the raw talent on the world but very erratic and sometimes will make poor decisions. It’s obvious he ain’t Hendon Hooker. We were so lucky to have him last year. Not sure what the answer is other than play Nico to get him some experience for next year. Heupel has quite a quandary on his hands.

The way to fix this in my eyes, and for me to still believe Josh is the right coach, is to beat Bama again. Beat Bama and lose to Mizzou on the road and I will still have faith in Josh. We can beat UGA at home

Who knows how the season goes but I’m hopeful they turn it around and go on a run. All the SEC teams are beatable, but so are we. So I’m hopeful we can turn it around but we need Cooper Mays back now!! It starts w o-line.

Defense- Idk WTH happened last night but we looked unprepared and lethargic. Is it talent or coaching?

Our LBs looked lost and we allowed Mertz to roll out. Ramon Foster (104.5 zone in Nashville) said all week the TN coaches knew that would be FL’ game plan. Well, it didn’t look like it. Maybe it’s due to youth at LB?

DBS- just awful. Heup must recruit 4* and 5* guys immediately. Plus, he must grab a couple from the portal for next yr. I think we have a few committed but not sure they sign.

I understand what you’re saying and agree to a point. However you are asking a lot of people that have showed up to support this team in a horrendous stretch that has rival fans comparing us to Vanderbilt. The team finally has a good year then the school triples the ticket prices and now you come out and lay an egg. Fan are asked to do a lot and I don’t know how fair that is to keep asking fans to do more. School has to put it together and earn that support.

If we can beat Bama, we can beat Mizzou so that wouldn’t be a good thing. That’s almost Butch all over again in ‘16. One more loss TOPS is how you answer to what happened last night.

The harsh reality is that we have been living under the delusion that the Tennessee program is what the 1950s and 1990s said it was. Tennessee is what the last 15 years have said we are: a has-been, also-ran, middle of the pack poverty program for which 8-4 is a good season.

We had an all time great coach in Neyland who built a great program. Dickey could have continued that legacy and cemented the program further, but ran off to Florida.

Johnny revived things somewhat, and Fulmer brought us another dominant decade and a National Championship.

That isn’t who we are anymore. The halcyon days of Neyland dimmed over the decades into the final flash of Fulmer. It was a good 80+ years. Tennessee is basically on par with the South Carolina’s and Wisconsins of the world now. We need to stop living in the past.

I’m 30. If we win another conference title in my lifetime, I’ll be shocked.

It wasnt a heartbreaker, it was a blow out. Heupel's second blow out in the last 2 years, to a team that had no business blowing us out.

Heupel may or may not work out, but there are concerning indicators and there are also indicators for hope.

Heupel has to rebuild a program in the toughest conference in America, which only a handful of coaches could do. Is he one of those? Only time will tell but blowout losses like lastnight to an average team is highly concerning for his future prospects.

No blowout last night. It helps if you watch the game. Florida fans were freaking out mouths wide open when Milton threw a long TD pass and connected on two other long passes in the third quarter. We didn’t play well but, not a blowout. Winning by 30+ is a blow out. We blew UVA out.

Heartbreaker?!? That game wasn’t even close.
