I'd rather go to the NIT anyway. We ain't gonna win the NCAA. What's the point of going to a tournament where you are probably gonna be one and done? Let's go win a few post season games and build the team.

Surely this is sarcasm lol

We need to win the rest of our home game and go 4 and 5 on the road. I doubt we can do this but that is what we need to do.

Going off past results we are about as likely to go one and done in the NIT as we are in the NCAAT.

We got "snubbed" last year.... and what happened in the NIT? Lost early. We haven't shown much of anything to lead me to believe that we have the talent or coaching to go anywhere in a tournament with better teams. In all seriousness, we need to build this program, and get it some recognition on a national stage. The NIT is a secondary tournament true, but winning that would go further toward building a program than losing in the first round of the NCAA. JMHO, I am sure YMMV...

Did you happen to notice that we hung 87 points on the number two defense in the nation the other night? If we hadn't scored at all in the second half, VA would have claimed the lead at the one minute 15 second mark in the game. That, sir, is strong. There's been lots to criticize about this team early, but stay tuned.

Rather than being disappointed I'm expecting a quick return to NIT mode.
Surprise me some more boys and hang 90 on LSU.

Remember, the matrix was last updated 11/9. If you look along the top you can see the brackets considered and their dates and they are all before 11/9. So yes, if one was current, you'd be off the list for at least that one.

I know. I am just posting this now with intent of updating/commenting as things really get under way.

I love your posts just because I love your avitar.

There are times, like a rebuilding year, that the NIT is not a bad deal. This ain't what Martin needs this year.

This. Really irritates me when people bash Martin for losing in the NIT. Nobody cares!!!! It is the NIT!

bs I hate to lose at anything. I had rather lose a first round game in the dance than win the NIT. But that doesn't make not trying to win in the NIT any more easy to swallow. If you are not going all out every game then you learn to say "Oh well it's just a game, no big deal." and then the losses start piling up and no one cares. jmo

I agree. some coaches can use it to get experience for young players.
Martin should just decline. He ain't interested and neither are his players and fans.
