It's very debatable. On paper there's no teams other than 3 or 4 that can match the size and overall talent UK has. But talent only goes so far. Teams like Louisville and KU have a nice mix of young and old players.

The deciding factor will be focus and effort on the court. They have a few sophs and a coupe seniors that could end up contributing a bit. Will be interesting to see if Hood/Polson can step up and function as a Darius Miller player. Someone who can come in the game and provide a few minutes of energy for the starters.

Right now they're certainly top 3. But wouldn't be shocked if they struggle in the sec and end up being like 2011 UK more than 2012 UK.
Very nice response. I honestly expected some smart ass response. You sound very intelligent about UK but don't offer up the we are the world talk. I think UK could be a dangerous team. But I don't like to give anyone credit until I see it on the court. If all those freshmen were going to be wearing orange I would be excited but nervous.

I want to see the Harrison twins first. That front court is sick. How much is Lee gonna play?

Sadly not enough. Randle/Poythress/Lee/Willis are gonna be tough to distribute minutes to. Unless Cal would rather go a little smaller and play a big man with 4 "smaller" players (not the other 7 footer). He's still testing out line-ups.

I disagree the NC team was the deepest IMO. This year could rival the NC team

They basically went 7 deep in 2012 (Vargas shouldn't count imo).

In 2009, 10 players logged 250+ minutes. Compare that to 2012 when only 7 players logged 200+. After Wiltjer at 462 it goes all the way down to Vargas with 198.

I completely agree.

As someone who tries to be very realistic, most of the UK fans get on my nerves when they bring up 40-0 or try to act like we're miles ahead of everyone else.

Growing up and living right on the Tennessee Kentucky line I've had to endure many of those type fans. They are just as bad as Reds fans. Go Cubs. But it nice to talk with a fan who understands both sides. But for once it would be nice to see our men bring in classes like the women. Unfortunately Tennessee will always be a football school.

Then I stand corrected

I don't know how far UT will progress in the Big Dance this year, but I believe UK will do much better in the NIT than they did last year.

Boom!

My prediction: UT Sweet 16 and a close loss to a 2 seed. UK losing in the NC game to another 1 seed.

UK will lose an early game to one of the elite teams they play. They will run the table other than that. May go down as the most talented team in CB history. MAY!

UT has a chance to be really really good. They need to stay healthy, especially stokes and maymon. If they can stay healthy and play better defense than last year, we can hang with the elite teams.

Don't like the fact that we'd be playing Kansas in the Elite 8, I think by that point in the year Wiggins is probably an all-star.

Would love to beat Memphis down...but let's be honest Memphis doesn't know what the 2nd weekend even looks like they'd probably lose to Iowa lol

That's the match up that I'm dying to see. I wouldn't care if UT went in as a 12th or 13th seed if it meant we face them first round. Can't wait to see Nichols get abused by Maymon and Stokes.

Would be fun, you know the committee already has that potential matchup circled.

Apparently Nichols held his own against a much better frontcourt than Maymon and Stokes in our exhibition v. Baylor.

Perhaps it would be Mr. Nichols that did the abusing?
