I love how we are starting to get the attention of a lot of D-line prospects in such a short period of time. Imagine what a whole year of recruiting would get us.

A lot of people here hated Fulmer and excused Chavis. I think getting rid of Chavis was bigger for the program than any of the other coaches. He didn't recruit and had a difficult time attracting quality DT's.

I hope he and Miles enjoy each other.

Maybe over the past couple years, but as a general statement I would disagree. Darwin Walker, John Henderson, Albert Haynesworth, Turk McBride, Justin Harrell, Jessie Mahelona, JT Mapu, etc. Through 2006 we always had at least one stud DT every year under Chavis.

Yes, definitely had a hard time of it over the past couple years, but I don't think I would place the blame squarely on Chavis.

I wouldn't say he's all vol, but I like our chances after he gets on campus. Be hard for him not to sign after coach O rips his shirt off and hands him a pen.

Per John Brice on Volquest: James Cregg called Brandon and told him they were going in a different direction and he will not be visiting here.

He informed me that his scheduled visit this weekend has been canceled and that his recruitment is down to UCLA and Washington. He told me he received a message from James Cregg this morning that UT was going a different direction and that Warner didn't really fit into UT's future plans. He had spoken with them last week to set up the visit but obviously was informed otherwise earlier today.

We aren't sure of all the specifics, but there could be any number of factors at play here. It's important to remember that the SEC has one of the toughest policies for JuCo players of any conference in the country. There are extra math classes, etc., required for this league that aren't required in say, the Big XII or Pac-10.

That's all.

This is purely a numbers decision. Not to worry. UT will be fine in the DT/DE department after this class.

Fine with regard to DT? Does fine mean good...or just OK? Because we've seen some pretty questionable DTs out there....is Coach O working his magic?

I wonder does the coaches have something else planned up. Have to be a reason to just call off the visit.

I was beginning to wonder why we were going after sooooo many D linemen. We're only losing two tackles and an end. We have quite a few on roster already. Plus what is probably coming in.

Read Meat Market. If there is a better DL talent evaluator than O, I would love to see him. Coach O obviously saw something he didn't like or knows we are getting someone better. If the staff wanted him, he would be a Vol. They know something we don't.

That's a shocker. I thought this guy was in the bag. I guess he was, until Kiffin or one of the others cut the bottom out of it. Oh well, coach knows best. I am still shocked however.

You have to believe that we have some silent commits and this was a numbers decision.
