I saw a bit of Stacey Augmon in that sweet left wing kiss off the glass

I expect BHH to make a big leap next year. Our frontline with a healthy Nkamhoua back should be solid and deep. Still would like an athletic 6’9 ish who can play both 3 and 4.

I’ll be the first one to admit that I was very skeptical of the kid beginning of the year.

He started off very slow, didn’t show a lot of energy nor aggression. Almost as if he was disinterested in taking hard coaching.

He grabbed several good rebounds against the SEC player of the year, also had a block, and made some nice jump shots.

I’ve said all along that he has NBA talent. He’s finally starting to look like he belongs out there in the SEC. Give credit to Barnes for coaching him up to his potential.
I think it’s the same for a lot of these recruits who play early. I don’t think he was disinterested or was not taking coaching. I think he was just a bit nervous and he had not caught up to the college game yet. Playing college ball as a freshman I would imagine is mentally difficult for most these kids. I mean BHH could still be in high school, right? Just look at the progress KC has made and he turned into probably our most consistent player by the end of the year. The future is bright for him and this team for the next couple of years. That low post fade away BHH has could be deadly. Barnes has done great developing these players shots over the course of their careers and BHH is only going to get better.
