Eric Berry went 1st round, 5th overall and signed a 60 million dollar contract. Javier Arenas went in the 2nd round, 50th overall, and signed for 3.78 million.

One more year in orange...not could be... will be...huge financially!

Tiny and McCullers can probably make a lot of money by staying. Not sure about the others.

Your stats really don't show that staying one more year will be huge financially seeing as Arenas played all 4 years at Bama and Berry left Tennessee after 3. Also, Tiny has to stay one more year.

You are correct about Tiny. The point is unless you are EB level as a Junior you should stay for your Senior year.

Cp is gone hes a first round top 15 pick on atleticism alone, however bray and hunter would definently benefit staying another season. I think they both fall late first to mid third depending on teams needs and willingness to handle poor character.

berry left the last year I think Rookies could make the BIG BUCKS right off the bat. wasnt there a CAP or something started to curtail the big paychecks for those that hadnt played a down.

I dont think Hunter's or Patterson's stock could get much higher than it is right now, as most of the mock drafts have these 2 as 1st or 2nd rounders. I would expect them to cash in.

Bray, on the other hand, could clearly improve his draft stock significantly with a solid senior season. He's a 3rd-4th rounder right now is most mock drafts, and definitely has the potential to be higher.

But, if all of his receiving targets are gone, he may decide its not worth the risk of having a subpar senior season.

With the new CBA, that is not true. Rookie contracts are not what they used to be. EB was in the last year of the old CBA, he would be kicking himself if he had stayed.

In the new CBA, the second contract has a greater emphasis than the rookie contract.

So no, you don't have to be a once in a generation type of player to come out early. Actually you didn't even have to be EB good in the old CBA.

yes, rookie salary cap/ slotted. part of new NFL PA agreement signed during last contract.

They changed the rookie contracts, so no one will get those large contracts anymore.

However, if you have a top 1-3 round draft grade in a dangerous, physical sport. You take it IMO.

CP, Hunter, Bray, James, McCullers, and Sentimore are gone most likely. James is the most likely of that group to stay

Good points. Tyler Bray throws the football 55 mph, Matt Ryan throws the football 51 mph. Bray throws beer bottles 60 mph and shatters windshields, Ryan doesn't throw beer bottles. One more year, new coach, and keeping his nose clean pays off big for TB.

I think we will see McCullers stay, JMO, and that is just going off of talk I have heard (not insider talk).

CP may not have a choice, but he doesn't need his hand forced. This guy is an absolute freak (mindblowing news I know) an NFL team will take him. If he falls to a team with great coaching like the Pats, then watch out, he will explode next year.

Hunter is a great talent, but IMO has been overrated big time. If he is being labeled as the #1 WR taken, he has no choice but to take advantage of that oppurtunity.

Sentimore, once again, we are hearing he may have no choice but to go.

James, who knows, coaching may impact his decision.

Bray, everyone is hearing stay and go. He should stay, but he will probably go. If Ryan Mallett would drop to the 3rd round, Bray will drop even further IMO.

The lower CBA might actually be an incentive to go. The thinking would be that you get to your second contract a year faster where if you believe you will be a great NFL player, what player doesn't, you will be able to cash out and as you will be one year younger you would be slightly more attractive.

Lets see...

Learn new routes / offense, go to class, study, maintain grades

vs.

Learn new routes / offense making few million $!!!

This is a tough choice!

Most of the players mentioned will take a "wait and see" attitude about the new coach before they jump to the draft. When the new coach is announced, I believe there will be an excitement on the part of the players that will convince them to stay.

1) No decision in life should be made SOLELY based on money.

2) Sometimes NOT going pro and waiting a year, will make you more.

Patterson isn't staying, no matter who the coach ends up being.

He's getting gone while he's still got some stock. He'll have to polish up on his routes in the pros and learn on the fly.
