Bray, Hunter, & Patterson go Pro after this year

CP could be a beast with another year. Just needs to stop dropping perfect passes....Those make your draft stock go down...

None of these are NFL ready. They would not hurt the team near as much as themselves by skipping a year of maturity.

Some Vols fans vastly overrate these guys. Bray is exactly like Ainge--and Ainge ain't in the NFL. You need more than a good arm to make it in the NFL--you need smarts and mobility and toughness. And even Bray's strong arm may raise questions as his three-quarters throwing motion is not ideal.

Hunter has good hands and definite pro potential but needs to get stronger. Patterson has definite pro size/athleticism but he's very raw and not sure about his hands. They could certainly be drafted fairly high based on their athleticism--but are they first-round guys? First-rounders are expected to make a serious impact--and I don't think either receiver is quite ready to do that in the NFL. That said, we should be getting the ball more to Patterson while he's here. Three/four touches is not enough.

Outside of Spring and Summer camps, I don't think Bray does any preparation on his own. He looks like he's flying by the seat of his pants on every play. If he has to 'scramble', he's a complete liability.

They will all leave. They're not going to win the SEC next season or sniff a BCS Bowl game even if they come back and none of them are born and bred diehard Big Orange guys. What's the point in returning and risking injury?

yep. If they can go, they will. I think they all (will) realize that Dooley is incapable of winning an SECC or better.

I don't see how we haven't been able to get the ball in CP's hands in space more.

They're taking him away a lot... Bray is having to go with what's open and what they're giving him.. He also may not be running the right routes a lot... When they are throwing it his way he's dropping it... He's not ready.. Heck of a athlete, not really a heck of a receiver yet...

You know, I have seen you use the "keep it in his pants" line in 2 different threads. I know he has a lot to lose. JH has been a shining star and an example of how I wish our players would behave. So what, he likes sex and impregnated his girlfriend and had a baby. When you say keep it in his pants, you sound like an 80 year old pastor trying be be condescending to a group of teenagers. You are not funny. JH could have went to the Olympics and has freakish talent and based on that alone he is a current first round pick and I wish him the best. This kid has played for us during one of this roughest patches of bad football ut has ever seen and has represented very well. He has given his all for Tennessee, let's wish him well.

This kids need to be told to keep it in their pants. When they don't we usually have to pay for their mistakes for the rest of their lives. Just saying. Hunter may be the exception if he does well in the NFL.

I think all 3 are getting a dose of reality this season, and realizing they aren't living up to the hype. With maybe the exception of CP.
I think all 3 return.

Patterson needs a season to learn to run crisper routes for sure and work on the droppsies.

Hunter will be gone due to his baby Hunter.

As for Bray...he has the physical tools. He needs another year to develop mentally. His stock has dropped after the last 3 games.

It is amazing to me Bray isn't going to Rivera more. He is the only receiver that Bray has consistently played with. I think Da'Rick Rogers departure has really affected him. He seems like he is just not on the same page with CP and especially Hunter in key situations.

Depends on how the year ends up. There is about an equal chance they all leave or they are all back. Hope TB leaves and CP/JH come back.

CClausen >>>> Bray

remind me how high CC was drafted?

Casey may have been slightly better. Casey had way more talent around him, and the defense kept the offense from trying to play catch up. 2 very different situations.

Tyler Bray:
Florida: 2 TD's, 2 INT's, 50% COMP.
Georgia: 2 TD's, 3 INT's, 1 FUM, 53% COMP.

Now, in what world do you fools live in that you believe that Bray is going pro? At best he'd be lucky to be drafted. Horrible against decent competition and is just not mentally tough yet. I just don't get where you guys are coming from with these topics. At best Bray is a 5th rounder, Hunter is a 3rd rounder if the scouts don't actually watch the film from the last few games...and Patterson? Won't even get drafted this year...You guys need to watch college football more and not just Tennessee football.

Finally a knowledgable post. Bray may be lucky to start for TN next year let alone a pro team.

Then they are fools --with the exception of Tyler.

Fools? They "would" go. But is the NFL beating down the doors right now? Doubt it. Maybe we show some NFL potential against Bama or South Carolina and opinions change. Right now, no one our team is a "lock" to get drafted early enough to make leaving early make sense. Hightower slipped into the second round last year. We don't even have a player with that type of credentials. Just don't see why everyone assumes Hunter is gone either. He needs to make a play in a big game first. He clearly has the potential but has not made a big play in conference since the 09 UF game. We have quite a few NFL guys. But not this year. Next year we will lose some juniors, but not this year.

Casey was way better at knowing the offense and running things at the line. Bray has MUCH more natural talent than Casey. But does does not appear to be a student of the game like Casey was. Casey had one real offensive talent as a junior. None as a senior. Bray has the weapons this year and will have some next year too. --- He just needs to keep working at it.

What did Peyton's number against FL look like?
