Bray tonight

Being a good college QB doesn't mean good NFL QB. I could point to a number of QB's who were good in college but never started, made the roster or even got drafted. Everyone at Hawaii and Texas Tech used to put up insane numbers, so what. And it's not like Bray had two or three of the best receivers in the country or anything. Any college QB should look good with Justin Hunter, Da'rick Rogers and Cordarrel Patterson.

Let's put it this way... every GM in the NFL on draft day disagrees with you about just how "prolific" Bray was. Even if you're not ready to be a QB, a team would still draft you if they thought you had potential to be molded into an NFL QB. He may turn out alright but zero teams thought he was worth even a 6th or 7th round pick. Even Jonathon Crompton was drafted in the 5th round. All of the above is pretty telling on what coaches and GM's around the NFL thought of Bray's college career. Other than Tom Brady and Tony Romo, I'm not sure there's many if any QB's starting that got drafted outside of the top 4 rounds. So, time will tell and I hope Bray does well. But college numbers don't always mean everything and that's been shown to be true many times. Tom Brady had to battle with Drew Henson at Michigan and it turns out in the pros, Tom Brady is awesome(hate him) and Drew Henson sucks. Matt Cassel rode the bench in college and he was an okay NFL QB. Putting up numbers in college doesn't always translate to the pros. See Tim Tebow.

For the record... I prefer Ainge over Bray.

Well considering I was responding to whether or not Bray is a prolific PASSER or not and never in anyway gave an inkling of an opinion on his viability as an NFL QB (oh, other than saying he was NOT A COMPLETE, NFL READY QB!), in fact I never even gave an opinion on where I think he is on the depth chart right now. Jesus that is dense. He's the definition of prolific passer, and, at the time of his draft, wasn't even in the same city as the ballpark mentally. AND he was arrogant about it. Everyone saw Ryan Leaf 2.0 and bolted. The only man that could help him is the one who rolled the dice on him in Andy Reid. So far, training camp sounds like he has responded well. Also, everyone knows Hunter wasn't up to snuff his junior year, Da'rick was dismissed before the season kicked off, and Cordarrelle Patterson couldn't run a route. Soooooo, point nullified.

Space for effect...

DID YOU REALLY JUST PUT TIM TEBOW AND TYLER BRAY IN THE SAME SENTENCE IN THIS SITUATION?!?! Tebow NEVER could properly throw the football and got by with being a fullback playing QB in college. On THE TOTAL OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE SPECTRUM Tyler Bray has one of the most accurate and powerful arms in the league, an established pocket passer who got his stats with everyone and their mother knowing Tyler was never going to tuck and run, but had no mental game at all. Totally comparable situations, Tebow had big numbers, Bray had big numbers, it's totally the same. At least use a comparable case study, like Ryan Leaf.

Oh btw, every analysis put out on Bray before the draft said the same thing: Tyler Bray had the best pure arm talent and passing ability of anyone in the class, but had maturity issues and was severely underdeveloped mentally, along with bad habits with being lackadaisical with his footwork at times. So, yea, they agreed that from a pure passer standpoint, he's prolific status. Need more proof? Sophomore year, Florida game, Bray rolls right, throws across his body, off his back foot, on the right hash mark, through the outstretched arms of two Florida players, and hits Marlin Lane down the left sideline on the T of his helmet with enough force to knock Lane out of bounds. Case closed.

First off I don't like Tebow or Bray. I think if Bray would have dedicated himself to being a great QB he could have been. As far as your comparisons of Tebow and Bray, you're kind of far off. Tebow was much more accurate than Bray. Tebow was one of the greatest college QBs of all time, the same thing cannot be said about Bray.

So the NFL said Bray was a prolific passer in college? I would love to read about it how about posting a link?

lots of dumb in this. A. the best we had since iceman was ainge. bray had some gaudy numbers but if i have a game winning drive that needs to be ran im takin ainge every time over bray plus ainge could actually read and understand defenses. he had less wr talent and more rb talent around him so he didnt have to throw it as much as bray or his numbers would have been similar cause he had more accuracy and a better understanding of the game. and B. bray was no slouch! he put up some amazing numbers with a terrible coach, multiple offensive coordinators and a terrible defense!!

Eh, I would take Bray with Cut over Ainge with Cut any day. Ainge pre Cut was god awful. Bray without Cut was still one of the best quarterbacks we've ever had.

It probably has something to do with Daniel having completed 68.1% of his passes while playing in 50 NFL games, and the fact that Daniel completed 68.0% of his passes in 4 years while in college at Missouri.

The fact that Daniel finished 4th in the Heisman voting in 2007, and the fact that he was a part of 2 Texas 5A state championship teams, and 1 Texas 5A runnerup while in high school probably don't hurt. He did quarterback one loss in high school, which would be a black mark against him though.

Being named Texas 5A high school player of the year would add to his resume, which shows considerably more success than Bray's. I believe that Murray played for the same high school team in Texas. Chase Daniel is a winner and a competitor with the game on the line.

Finally, someone who knows what the guy's last name is.

People on here know all they need to know.

1) He didn't play for U.T., so he is no good.
2) If he did play for U.T. and was no good, it was because of sorry coaching.....Dooley's in particular.
3) If he did play for U.T., and left school and wanted to coach or play elsewhere, then he is a turncoat, and wasn't that good to begin with.

It's not looking good for him to make the team with his preseason performances this year. Tonight he is 2-8 13 yards and an oskie. His first pass was to the other team. His throws are very poor tonight. Bad timing. I believe Andy Reid gave him a great opportunity as he has played most of the second half. He is making the decision very easy for Dorsey and Reid with tonight's performance.

Finished strong going 7 for 7 on last drive and a late TD pass. Really hope he makes the team, but it was ugly early.

Dude, you're all over the place. You call people idiots for having an opinion and then you contradict yourself by claiming that Bray is "cleary #2" behind Smith when the link you gave says he's most likely third. You can't site the link you gave as a source to back your statement when the link you gave also contradicts your statement.

According to you though, he's clearly #2. The site you linked disagrees with you that he's #2 but you pick a part that agrees with you to justify your statement? Makes sense. Said no one ever.

For the record, I think you're overcompensating at this point when it comes to your intelligence. Everyone is an "idiot", "retard", "slow". Three posts in a row... either you're overcompensating or you're just an ass. Maybe both. I don't doubt that people do hate you. Probably for having watched the XFL.

I don't expect much from PrattvilleVol. Just spews garbage.

KC Star reporting Bray suffered a knee and ankle injury against Green Bay and may be put on injured reserve, which would end his season.

The Chiefs are very high ion Bray and they did not want to lose he or Aaron Murray. Bray was the most improved player in the Chiefs camp.

The Chiefs are going to part ways with Chase Daniel at years end. They still do not have Alex Smith under contract and are not going to spend a fortune on him. That means that the Chiefs could have only two QBs under contract after this sea on- Bray and Aaron Murray. That means Bray could actually compete for the Chiefs starting QB a year from now.

He took money at UT (even though he's from a financially sound family) and he was well documented for being lazy.

Prove it or Shut up. So tired of our fan base spreading completely made ups rumors about our own guys.

Despite the way some of the idiots around treated him, he still represents UT and is a VFL.

It is not his fault that he had the worst coach in the History of Tennessee. Along with a completely dysfunctional environment.

If Cutcliffe had been Bray's OC/QB coach he would have been a first round if not number 1 overall pick in the draft and be starting for someone. Instead he had the deaf leading the blind, and has had to fight his way onto a roster and put himself into position to possibly be the starter next year.

That sounds like the opposite of lazy to me. Just sayin

Daniel will be in KC for a while.

Prove what? That he took money or that he was lazy and it was documented that he didn't put in the work at UT (didn't watch game film, never learned how to read a defense, threw the Kentucky game and possibly the Vandy the following year, didn't put effort into the strength and conditioning program which is why he magically put on 30 lbs in a couple months right before the NFL draft).

People like you make me sick to my stomach. I, along with money others, am a UT graduate that's given money to the program, and something that really pisses me off is when someone like Bray comes along and disrespects the program, the University, and the fans with his continual behavior/attitude.

But you support PM, after the fact that he cost the University a few hundred thousands of dollars prior to his senior season, after he tea-bagged a trainer? Pick and choosing scapegoats is too easy.
