Was the National Guard or other actual military involved there? I’m pretty sure that was a bunch of three letter agencies playing GI Joe and needlessly killing people.

They are still very militarized. They are the federal government's domestic military police.

I looked it up Slice. The wiki page does list Texas and Alabama NG and regularly military as participating in the overall event. It goes to great pains to say they were “support” but still the Feds used two Abrams tanks as well as IFV chassis in the assault. Which of course is ridiculous. I always assumed it was the Texas Rangers and hyper active DEA only that caused that show and assumed the IFVs were their stupid ass paramilitary toys.

I don’t disagree in that. As I just said in another post listing the equipment used in the Waco assault.
