Not a common conclusion among many here, but very insightful. Most people on here are so ready to lay a great deal of the blame at the door of Hart, but I really think the greater blame lays at the doorstep of messrs. Cheek and Martin.

He reminds me of Bruce Pearl without the whole lying thing. He would even go to a lot of UC basketball games to support his school. Students will love him

I'm also from Cincinnati and many here think he's a better coach than Brian Kelly. You can't watch that You Tube video and not at least get a little pumped (no homo).

That's the problem, while we're known as a national recruiting powerhouse even during rough years, we always recruit above how much talent is just handed to us because we've always had guys who were at least known recruiters along with out large recruiting budget. Maybe he'll turn into the next Meyer in terms of not being a huge recruiter at the previous school and turning into a great recruiter, however those situations aren't normal and it's very easy to recruit at florida. He better assemble a hell of a staff and start pulling in top 10-15 recruiting classes if he wants any chance to be successful here.

First, I agree with every word you said about Hart and Cheek. They are obvious idiots and are the fuel for disorgnization at UT. They should be fired immediately regardless of the success of Jones. Now, Jones needs to bring some great assistants in, hopefully he will. He is obviously a much better coach than Dooley and I applaud him for accepting the challenge at hand. The defense will be critical to his future. In short, hell yes fire Hart's azz right now! But not for hiring Jones, who could be a great coach, but for botching this hole thing and making a laughing specticale of Tennessee. His ability and intelligence have been revealed. Also, the ongoing turmoil at Tennessee between the academic and atheletic department must be addressed immediately. This could hinder any success of not only Jones, but our whole atheletic dept. From what I gather, stricter admission scores and tests are mandated by academics department and this was a action to either punish the atheletic dept or to elicite a negative response and thus fuel the existing conflictions between the two. Perhaps, someone should consider cleaning house at UT

It's clear that major players do not want to work for this administration.

If this were a Fortune 500 company, to keep VP's and CEO's like these who in charge on the Hill would have to be justified by results (profits). As is clearly obvious, they are not producing ANYTHING to justify keeping them. They would be gone in a heartbeat.

Shareholders would not go for this type of brand-tarnishing. The fans/boosters shouldn't go for it either. I can stomach an incompetent set of pricks a lot easier if we are winning. But that is not the case.

I have one question: Does he demand the respect of his players? Does he run a tight ship? Keep them on a leash? Is he stern?

He should be judged compared to how the other hires pan out. No against what Petersen or Gruden might have done.

If I am not mistaken....Toledo was ranked at that point in the top 25....I may b wrong.... But pretty sure they were....he beat Stong 2out of 3yrs......he has 6yrs HC experience....and has won 4conference titles....albeit in lower levels but damn everyone was on Strongs jock about winning the Big East....how is Jones considered less than Strong....makes no sense...
