Breaking Down February

If not playing better teams, then we need to win more than the teams around us do.

You said win 7 of 8 and our RPI won't improve, that's incorrect, like I said in the first post.

No, you keep trying to prove me wrong by quoting one line of that post. Read the last sentence in the post, which gives you the context, and it makes sense. I said that if you win the games (7 out of 8 for instance), and other teams around you do not, then your RPI will improve. I said that in the first post.

But since you are a 24 year old know it all, who spends many hours of the day posting in a basketball forum, please tell me more about how I am wrong.

So the only way to improve your RPI is to win, and teams directly infront of you lose?

For example, North Dakota State is a couple spots ahead of us. You're saying THE ONLY way for us to move ahead of them is if we win more games than they win?

If that's what you're saying, which it appears you are, then yea you're absolutely wrong.

The bottom line is winning takes care of it. If we win 7 out of 8 like you suggested, then I guarantee you our RPI will be higher than it is now. It is inevitable that other teams will lose games, and as long as UVA and Xavier keep winning, then it gets even better.

I think you guys need to start over with this discussion or just end it. I thought BTO had a valid point and comeback from your original post, and because people don't like his optimism around here, you jumped on him. You have some interesting points, but I don't believe them all to be true either.

If we go 12-6 in conference with any combination of wins, then we will be fine. We don't have to beat UF. Beating Mizzou will be a Top 50 RPI win at this point.

UT will lose in Columbia to a pretty good Mizzou team. The Vols will lose at Vandy because it's hard to play in that dungeon. UT will upset UF and going into the last two games, they will be firmly in the tourney.
Then, the wheels will fall off - like they always do under the Zomeister.
Back to back losses to TAMU and MSU will be followed by a first-round loss in the SEC tourney. Then it's on to the NIT and certain doom in the first round at the hands of an A-Sun power.
But the sun will come back out when Zo the Shmo is handed his walking papers.

But you loved Dooley who was a loser before he even set foot on campus.

Also the wheels don't usually fall off. Actually Martin finishes strong. The start of the season has been the problem.
