We are set at WR this year. :good:

have we ever had a more complete crew of receivers at one time?

defensive backs of the world, get used to see this:

i think we are just too deep to have one guy breakout.

it will be like last year when we had probaly the best receiving corp in the land. except we have improved this year.

I think Southern California's recieving corps was far and away the best in 2004, but I think the Vols had a top 5 corps and possibly top 3. [/quote]
ours was better imo.

we just had two inexperienced freshmen and one clausen throwing to them.

Man, did you ever pay any attention to USC? They already had a #1 talent recieving group to start the year off, and as the year wore on and more got injured, they only got better. It's incredible! But hay, second or third best in the land ain't bad by any stretch.

Im Cj Fayton fan'' but it really doesnt matter! I believe with so many and so much skill'' There shouldnt be any dropped balls.

i agree i think cj faytons play in the cotton bowl is just a little hint of whats to come. he also made a couple catches in the back of the end zone draggin his toe that not many people couldve made. I think it'll be a good year for him meachem is still my fav and swain is awesome also. we'll see but id say the biggest one to step up will be fayton but meachem will be the best.

I remember the mid 90's when over a few years we had Faulkner, Fleming, Kent, Nash, Peerless, . . . .

we'll spread the ball around a lot, but I see Meachem being "Peerless" this year.

Well, I think that everyone has their favorite and the good news is that each will get to see their fav make some plays this year. It is exciting to think that we are stacked at WR and have 2 QB's who can get the ball to them in a different way. Add Riggs, Anderson, Foster, Holbert, Yancey and Williams along with a couple of Freshman if need be, and we have a heck of an offense. But only if the big guys can get it done on the line though.

I think Bret Smith is going to have a breakout year. He made a couple of catches last year that really impressed me, especially one that he jumped up and really had to reach for. Can't remember the game though.

Think he made a pretty nice grab in the Fla game

I think all of our WR's bring something different to the field.

Meachem and Hannon are similar. They bring size and speed and will be our deep threats this season.

Smith brings clutch catches in pressure situations, and rarely lets anything get by him.

Swain brings great hands, speed, size and strength. I think he does more after the catch than any of our other WR's do.

Fayton is always a reliable option. Nobody will really be looking for him on defense so he's kind of an X-Factor for us. PLus we all saw what he could do after the catch in the Bowl Game vs. A&M.

Briscoe looked good from what I saw, I like his size, he showed good speed and hands. I also noticed he looked really good in his route running. He was very precise.

Another thing we are also forgetting is that the WR's will lose some balls to Cory Anderson and David Holbert out of the backfield. Plus I see Jakouri Williams lining up in the slot alot causing a mismatch with a linebacker.

And not only are we deep at WR, I think were forgetting about how deep we are at TE. With Chris Brown, Brad and Jeff Cottam, and Justin Reed taking some more balls away from our WR.

I see Chris Brown catching 15 to 20 balls. I see the Cottams catching 10 to 15. I see Justin Reed jumping into the endzone vs. Florida.

All in all, I honestly think Bret Smith wikll ahve the best year and the reason I think that is because I think Ainge likes throwing it his way because of his sure hands. Notice the 1st half of the year, Smith caught 5 TD passes and they were all from Ainge. Not a one from Schaeffer. I just think we have a WR for every situation that we can come across which makes us more lethal. We have weapons everywhere on offense. No way we shouldnt average 30 points a game.
