Brent Schaeffer needs to go. If he doesn't value his position on the football team any more than that, who needs him? I know all about "he's a kid, kids make mistakes, blah, blah, blah." He needs to go make his mistakes somewhere else.

everyone is talking about Brent, he was at least fighting over his girlfriend. Bret Smith just hit the guy on the ground.

I can't blame Smith for that! Anytime that I see someone laying on the ground I kick them in the gut for good measure. :rolleyes:

Okay. They BOTH need to go. We always talk about Miami players being "thugs". Looks like we need to point fingers in our OWN direction.

it's a bad situation either way you look at it. i thoght schaffer valued his position more than this. but who knows. maybe we don't know the whole story. i'd still like to see him stay. that goes for smith as well. maybe the suspension time will teach them a lesson.

It's a funny thing. In my mind, I thought that Smith was a pretty cool cat. He always seemed very composed, didn't celebrate much at all after he scored TD's. He just seemed like a straight kid. I know that this little fight isn't much, but I thought it was odd that he was in it.

Well, I guess if they can justify keeping Daniel Brooks, they'll find a way to justify keeping these two around.

I don&#39;t know how much is going on with the UT football team,so all I can say is innocent until proven guilty.But it doesn&#39;t look good in any light... :dunno:

the guy they beat up is not going to press charges so they won&#39;t be in much legal trouble.

They both will be back and not be kicked off the team. All Brent was doing was protecting himself&#33; Geez dude had a baseball bat. Then gets thrown down in a fight and gets a gash on his head. I dont know about yall and how many fights yall have seen but it happens.

I bet fights happend all the time on the UT campus but only the ones with the football team get reported&#33;

Let it go they are good kids&#33; I am pretty sure just about everyone on this board has been in a scuffle or two in there lifetime&#33; :twocents:

Look guys and gals you all may not like what happened but these guys are part of the Unviersity that we love and support. You may not agree with what happened and for that matter no one may know exactly what happened or other circumstances that may have been involved. People make mistakes, especially kids.. we all have made mistakes and hopefull we learned from it and are wiser from it. Agree or disagree lets remember that these KIDS could read this board and lets not stoop to calling them punks and thugs.

Just thought it would be funny to cruise over to the Bammer board. There were 4 seperate threads about this and 1 of them was a merger of some others&#33; There really must be nothing worthwhile in that god-forsaken state&#33; I did however pick up one funny tidbit.
