Why is it silly to think Ole Miss will only win three games? They won three last year and don't appear to be much better this season. This is just a gut feeling. Won't really know until you see them play a few times.

See, this is kind of what I'm talking about. They are improved at almost all their positions. They have a ton more experience in a lot of places, and a far more favorable schedule. You *HAVE TO* look at where these games are.

I can't stress enough how Ole Miss may have improved at all positions.

They have 5 returning starters back on offense and defense. I see them winning 3 to 5 games. If I had to make an exact call I say 3 games. You simply disagree and I understand that. We will see.

I think 6 is probably the ceiling, and 5 wins is a tad more likely than 6. If BS doesn't come, that's at least one more loss.

So how do you feel Tennessee will do in 2006 in terms of wins?

BS needs approximately 10 hrs summer credits to attend OM. Not impossible but very difficult.

Isn't that basically 4 summer session courses? Most 1 hour classes are 3 credits, so he'd need to either take a 4th 3 credit class or a 1 credit class like bowling or something?

If he can't pass summer school then he shouldn't be in college. That was the easiest time IMO because you don't have all of the distractions going on like during the season(girls, parties, etc).

i see them beating arkansas semi easily and possibly beating an alabama or LSU

Arky will have a very good Defense and the best backfield in the SEC. They will not beat Arky.

I think the Georgia backfield might have something to say about that.

Darren Mcfadden may very well be the top rusher in the SEC this year. Peyton Hillis is the best full back in the SEC and Felix Jones maybe the fastest back and he has tremendous hands. No slight on the dogs but the hogs look very strong this year. Add to that they have a O line that will almost be intact from last year. QB is their only ? but they do have Casey Dick coming back and he was a very servicable QB last year. They also have Mustain coming in and we all know the hype he got. So I think it is very easy to say that as of right now the hogs have the best back field.

Agreed. I don't think Brent's the type of guy who'll turn the corner academically. What's really frustrating is seeing these world-class talents come through Knoxville and losing them because they can't get their act together academically or behaviorally. I hate to imagine what might have been if we could have gotten more maturity out of Brent Schaeffer, James Banks, Onterrio Smith, Raymond Henderson, etc.

The sad fact remains that college just isn't for everyone and that includes super-athletic jocks. Coaches who recruit athletic ability with no regard to academics are just asking for trouble. I'm not saying CPF does that, but I'm sure it goes on in most , if not all, schools. I do believe that if a player wants it bad enough, he or she CAN make the grades, but they come at the expense of all-night parties and a swinging social scene. At least they did where I went to college.

Memphis is terribly down this year, and Mississippi will improve at almost every single position if BS play. The Miss State game will be harder for the Rebs than Vandy or Memphis this season.

For the toss up games: The Rebs are 5-1 against Kentucky in their last six. I favor Kentucky in this one a tad because it's in Lexington. Still, the Rebs are good enough to win there.

The Wake game is in Oxford.

Ole Miss missed 2 FGs against Alabama last year. Alabama will be down (at least in talent from 2005) and Ole Miss is improved. Ole Miss COULD pull an upset, but Alabama should be favored.

Missouri is better than Mississippi, but lost at home to New Mexico last season and at home against Kansas State in 2004.

On a pure talent level, Mississippi with BS has a ceiling of 5-7. However, scheduling is extremely underrated by experts and fans a like.

Mississippi only has 2 games at home that are unwinnable: UGA and Aub.

They have 2 on the road unwinnable: LSU and Arkansas

And I love when people say "So and so is xwins-xlosses at best" That's not a prediction, that's stating fact. I said Ole Miss could go 5-7, but could just as well go 6-6. It's one game difference.

Ole Miss will NOT beat Bama or Arkansas.

Agreed on Arkansas (as I said in the post you quoted), but Bama is like a .... 10% chance for Ole Miss. Remember, Ole Miss STUNK last season and Bama had their best team this century, but Bama needed a miracle to win.
