Hunter's problem last year was that he dropped too many good passes. He didn't avoid contact any more than Patterson avoided contact, except Patterson was more successful at running around defenders. Hunter back pedaled at times to avoid a sure tackle, then tried to run around them for extra yardage. When he had no place to go, he went straight ahead. He never went down until he was taken down. All the talk about him avoiding contact is just stupid gossip, and I wish people would stop posting it.

You must have selective memory. Hunter played scared all season. Played not to get hurt. He flopped like a fish many times. Or he'd miss the pass to avoid contact. Guy was just going through the motions.

I'm friends with him on FB......he said he won't be in the O&W game.....but he hopes he will be ready on the season opener.

The Hunter hate on this thread astounds me.

It's not hate to accurately remember that he dropped a lot of balls he should have caught and did very little to fight for extra yards. Maybe it was the injury. Maybe it was just waiting for the paycheck. Who knows? It's understandable either way imo. The point is that you can't just deny that it happened.

He led the team in yds, receptions, and TDs playing alongside a guy that is projected to be the first WR taken in the draft.......he caught passes.

I'm not hating on JH but it's a little hard to parade a guys stats when he plays 12 total games and 40% of his yards and 7 of his 9 TDs came against:

Troy
Georgia State
Akron

i completely agree that is what happened - i am not sure what some people were watching that made them think otherwise

that being said he may just not have as good of hands as we at first thought and he is not a great guy at making you miss

his straight line speed and ability to make plays down the field is where he excels - he is not a possession receiver and is not a make you miss guys

and that is completely okay

I knew him personally. Goofy kid but a good one. I was really disappointed to hear about the acl when it happened. Lets hope he can get rid of the rust and perform like himself again this year.

Your memory of the Fla game is definitely failing you. As painful as it might be rewatch it and you will see that you are wrong.

Really? Ut was up 10 or 14 in the 3rd and Bray hit Hunter streaking down the sideline for 6 and he dropped the pass. Not hating on Hunter that is what happened. Granted that may of not of put the game away but it would of made it a lot harder for the gators to catch up. Shortly after that everything went to pieces.

He flopped on the ground constantly to avoid hits and hardly ever went up for a ball that was thrown a little too high, something he became known for as a freshman....IMO he played at 75% effort most of the year.....I still think he will do great once he gets to the NFL and gets that paycheck locked in and I hope he has a lot of success but his junior year wasn't that impressive

Patterson dropped that ball.....hunter dropped a key pass on a late game 3rd and 6 though....we were also tied at 20 at the half and they beat us 37-20

There was no key pass in any of our games last year. Our defense would to stunk it up no matter what balls were caught.

Ga basically handed us the game on a silver platter and we still lost.

You may be right, I might have got the two mixed up. I know Patterson dropped that ball against UGA, but that is the only big pass I can remember him dropping.

Kind of true.....but the only consistent playmaker we had was Patterson....rogers was good but not someone that requires a double team and hunter really didn't do anything special this year

Yeah CP dropped an easy TD down the left sideline against UF.....huge punch in the gut...he does better when u throw him short routes so he doesn't have time to think about scoring before he ever catches it

You may be right about halftime score but we were losing like 27-20 when CP dropped that bomb

For some reason I was thinking we were up 20 to 13 when that drop happened. I guess it doesn't really matter since nothing went well the 2nd half of that game. Let's just hope this year goes a little better then last.
