Brick By Brick, Vol by Vol

I haven't bathed in the waters of Volnation much lately, so I might have missed the conversation regarding the #BrickbyBrick #VolbyVol movement on twitter.

Jones, the staff, and the players are asking the greater Volnation to submit pics showing that they are all in by holding up their brick with a UT related slogan of some sort.

I don't know why, but this movement really hit home for me. As a guy who majored in advertising at UT this really stood out as some of the most clever marketing ever (something that Jones seems to be really good at).

Anyway, to show my support here is my entry. A few weeks ago it hit me that RISE (As in the 2013 Vols will Rise) could easily have a '13 in it. So, I came up with the "R1S3" slogan. I thought it was clever and unique, but I am sure I will be told otherwise here.

I beg forgiveness for my lack of brick painting and photography skills, in advance. I am certain someone will remind me that I am not Michelangelo.

I might be alone, but I can't remember being this excited about UT football since back when I was on campus from 97-02.

I have been so busy with my new job and with law school final exams bearing down on me that I haven't been on here much lately.

Plus, the facebook page that I created to support my blog has been taking up most of my few spare minutes.

It feels good to be back. I am excited and ready for the O&W game (sadly, I have never been to one).

At the risk of being stomped, I agree with you but for what I think is a valid reason. With today's world full of so man weird and destructive people, having the masses haul actual bricks isn't smart. Would be surprised if some drunk or broken brain nitwit throws one or does something else stupid with it. Thus starting an embarrassing incident for the university. It's not the idea that's bad, it's the reality of human behavior these days.
