Bring back V O L S

I have no idea how to start a petition on change.org, but if someone here does I would like your help.
I want to start a petition to the University to bring back the traditional" V O L S" signs that once graced the top of the upper deck at Neyland. Some of our newer and younger fans may not remember them, but they were a staple on our beautiful stadium and another thing that made it unique IMO.
I think they removed them when they added the jumbotron, but they could put them on the opposite side.
Might not be a big deal to some, but Butch is restoring us to our former glory and I think it would be fitting to restore another lost tradition from those days. Things just haven't been the same since they were taken down. We haven't beaten Bama or Florida since they were removed.
So what do you guys think? Do you want them back, or am I just being silly?

Not sure exactly, but I would give a few toes to own one if they are never going to put them back up

I think I read somewhere that those original letters are gone, as in destroyed. They'd have to get new ones made.

The last I heard of the letters, they were auctioned off and Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants in Knoxville won the bid. (see article)

I agree id love to have them back, but the jumbotron came in after the 98 championship. Remember going to the celebration in Neyland when they replayed the national championship game on the new jumbotron ? We have beat both florida and bama since then.

They were a part of UT tradition and I think it was a cop out to get rid of them. More advertising $$$ in UT's pocket (jumbotron ads) meant they had to go. A smart architecture firm could have both the letters and the 'tron in today's stadium.

I cannot imagine what they were thinking by not having that sign somewhere looking over the stadium and field. Taking down something that iconic was dumb as dirt IMO. Yes - bring it back. As others state - put it on top of the tron if that is the only place for it to go.

My buddy and I had our first 4 season tickets together under the "O". About 6 rows from the top. Saw many a drunk tumble down those steep stairs and get carted off by the first aid crew. Took our sons to their 1st game in those seats ... the Florida "Downpour" game.

The field was a river and the water running down the upper deck was like a waterfall. We were soaked and never left, but we "whipped dey azz!" Good memories in those seats.

They won some and other bidders won another set of the letters. They are HUGE. Each letter needs a tractor trailer

Now it says Neyland Stadium:

Both look nice IMO, but not sure why they decided to go with Neyland Stadium instead of the V-O-L-S on the new jumbotron. I liked the V-O-L-S from a tradition standpoint.
