Broncos vs Pats predictions.

I still can't believe a game featuring the two best QBs in the NFL was under 3 min from ending in a tie when a freak special teams blunder decided who won. SMDH.

I'll concede he didn't have his best game. However, you can't ignore the fact his defense really sucked the second half. It's the ultimate team sport.

His defense spotted him 24 points right away. The excuse that Peyton's defense failed him can't be used this time. With Fox not coaching, Peyton makes the calls and he opted to run like crazy. Games on Peyton. He played not to lose instead of to win.

Except for it wasn't 24 it was 17 and the O and ST still had to earn 10 of them. Yeah the D allowed for a nice head start but it changed the way the offense approached the game. The play-calling is the biggest reason they lost.

The game itself didn't matter all that much. Just exposed what was already there. Von Miller, despite the early game success, isn't a one man wrecking crew like last year. The Broncos offensive line forces Manning to hurry too much. Manning's arm strength isn't there. The Broncos offensive play calling is too conservative. The secondary is in shambles.

Ok, that's a bit of hyperbole. It's one game, in freak weather, on the road. And just like in the Baltimore game, they should have won it. They just need to get away from being in constant conservative mode.

I hope it changes, but you are dealing with Fox and Manning. They've been like this most of their careers. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again. I do think the secondary gets healthier, but everything else might not change. Run, run, third and long pass is a staple of Fox's career.

Haha. How old were you? I was like 13 and could touch the rim with ease and thought those would make me dunk for sure. They made no difference. I wanted to dunk more than anything. In HS I could do it here and there, but not consistently enough to try it in a game.

Has anyone ever considered that Manning's "bad" in cold weather probably because of his nerve issues? I mean, he's been battling the nerve weakness in his throwing arm for years, well before the surgery to fuse his spine.

If you played the game, you know how difficult it can be to throw or even hold on to a football in cold weather when your hands are already going numb from the cold, imagine doing this with severe nerve damage? I would think it couldn't be easy.

Seriously, all this garbage about him not being good in cold weather, I would have to think that this is where it comes from. To think that one of the best QBs to ever lace 'em up would just stink in cold weather because he doesn't like it...seems absurd to me. He's a professional, and a consummate one at that.

The flipside to this is that Brady has spent his entire career playing in that environment.

Not so much the cold weather, but the wind definitely hurts him. He doesn't have the arm strength to slice through heavy wind.

My bad. 17 it was. However, Peyton was in charge of the offense with Fox being out and he played not to lose.

I'm old, 37. I think I was 16 or 17 at the time, I could dunk one handed fairly easy in the open court, but I wanted to dunk like Kemp. Lol Sadly being 5'11 that wasn't going to happen. I did go visit a girl in Charlotte at age 20, spent the whole time in the lake...ummm cuddling. :) I came back home and could jump about 5-6 inches higher. I was a beast for about a month. Lake sexy time>>>jump soles evidently. Lol

"I'm 5' 9" and didn't realize until gametime how much jumpsoles benefited me. To my surprise I broke away on a steal and dunked it with 2 hands." -every testimonial ever

I think the fact that there is an argument that goes back and forth with valid points from both sides is pretty telling. I'm not talking about excuses like some of the ones I was making, but taking another look by article writers. There is no clear cut answer. I certainly don't feel Peyton deserves the choker label, or at the very worst to the level of what he gets slammed for.

The running game is what the Patriots defense was allowing with as physical as they were with Denver's offensive weapons. I say this loosely. Hard to pass down the field in those conditions when the Patriots defense allowed very small windows, if any. His receivers didn't really get separation. Denver's defense folded like an arm chair in the second half and left the door wide open. This did happen so I don't know what to tell you there. Several factors went into him looking like garbage, but he really wasn't. This game is not just on Peyton. I think Brady is better than many haters give him credit for, but I do not think Peyton deserves as much of the choker tag that he's been labeled with either.
