Bruce pearl is the man! Stay forever!

Lol are you guys serious!?

Im just saying, tennessee basketball isnt even close to Duke, NC, kansas, or anything like that. Not close to the booster support, facilities, or tradition. Were not a perennial final 4 team. Were just not. And nobody is going to take us there, unless his name is Bruce Pearl. He is our only hope. The second he leaves, were back to 14-19. So be careful of what you wish for.

Hes always recruited this type of player. Hes just got no fire power on this team. If you remember, back when we had lofton and Jawaun smith, we lived by the three and we died by the three. You guys have assumed that is what winning basketball is. Hes got an athletic team that likes to get in teh paint and get easy twos, with occassional threes. However, this current team thinks they are better with the 3 ball than they are. There arent very many coaches better with the Xs and Os than bruce. Think about the Defense weve had over the years. Think about all the 5 second calls. We have forced more 5 second calls than anyone in america in a long shot. We just need a good star (like tobias harris) to let all this mesh together and to get everyone to jump on his back and educate. Tyler smith is the closest to that we have.

we have lost 2 games! chill out. If were still throwing up duds against Up and coming teams in March, Crucify him then.

But to say "the writing is on the wall" is ridiculous. He won a D-2 Ncaa championship, took W-Milwaukee to the sweet 16, so just wait till we get a good draw in the tourney, get a couple of wins.

The funny thing is if He gets to the elite 8, you guys will be saying "Yeah i believed in this coach and team the whole time". Be educated basketball fans about this... ITS DECEMBER! Relax, lets enjoy the reg season, the good thing about all this is well be playing our best bball by March. (guessing since were bad by now)

And who said we need an "Elite" Pg to win? Khalid Al Amihn wasnt "elite". Mateen Cleaves wasnt elite. Wojo from duke wasnt elite. You just need a servicable pg, unfortunately, This isnt an era where you get Really good pass first (leader) Point guards. You get 2 guards that arent big enough, and play the point. And true pass first point guards arent "elite" they are 3 stars. He will find one. judge him after this next recruiting class (which is outstanding) is playing.

ITS DECEMBER! NOT MARCH

im a 24/7 vol fan, not just during the good times.

He can coach a tourney team? Are you effing kidding me?! This has to be a joke.
This is his 5th year @UT , you dont judge a persons tournament capability on 5 years.
You judge it over 10-12 years. Teams change, seedings change, draws change. And hes been to 3 sweet sixteens. So i think so? At least he gets us to the tourney EVERY YEAR!

lol. Bet you loved Jerry Green too.

Pearl has only been to 2 Sweet 16's. Get your facts straight.

Purdue = overrated. USC = garbage. Tennessee = 2 bad loses with the last one being absolutely horrible. No reason to do add and subtract when the answers clearly state the problem for you.

You guys are freaking out about 2 losses, where we lost by 1 to a top 5 team on a neutral ct, lost to a up and coming USC team across the country when they played lights out. For those of you calling for CBP's head, heres what you need to think about.

1- a better coach isnt coming anytime soon

2- hes a great coach, a top 5 recruiter. If we win a title, itll be under him. He can coach a tournament team.

3- when he recruited Maze, Scotty, Tatum, woolridge and other disappointments, he assumed theyd have a firey edge like he does. they are quiet so far, but that will change. Ive followed Bruce since he was at Southern Indiana. There has always been once constant with his teams:
Always- after an a$$ whoopin, his team came back the next game absolutely revved up! Be ready
4- Even if your heart pressed on a new coach, There isnt a better coach than Pearl that would go to tennessee. Butlers coach isnt better. WKU's coach isnt. Iowas coach Def isnt.
5- If we made a change to a quiet basketball guy simple coach, wed sink right back to 15-15 like we were with oneill and buzz lightyears away from winning peterson.
6- This was the worst loss by a BP team, 22 points is the worst in 5 years? Thats purty good with the teams weve faced.

GIVE HIM TIME. once these guys catch the mean side of CBP, this team will be different! VERY DIFFERENT! TRUST ME, ive known BP my whole life. He is a great coach. We will win!

oh and PS bruces mega contract will keep him here too. so quit your b!tch!n

IF YOU DONT BLEED ORANGE DURING THE LOSSES, GO BE A GEORGIA FAN. BLEED ORANGE 24/7

Your English teacher is livid that you decided to post this garbage.

Secondly, I've heard the "give him time" argument enough. Five years is plenty of time. I sincerely hope I can walk into my boss's office after five years of subpar performances and ask for more time.

You have a lot to learn junior.

LOL... The Fired Coach would love to have you as an AD.

Don't worry, though. Like you said, "At least he gets us to the tourney EVERY YEAR!" Perhaps you, myself, and Brucy can go down to the local pub and watch the Elite 8 and Final Four on T.V. together.

The sad part about CBP is his greatest accomplishments while at UT came with someone else's recruits.I do think we have some talent on this team, they play like it's a pick up game at the local playground. If Coach Pearl doesn't get a hold of this team and work the hell out of them then maybe we do need another coach.

I'll give the original post this much credit - Tennessee is between a rock and a hard place if it ever hits the fan with Pearl. I'm as annoyed as anyone with this team's play over the last season and a half, but let us not kid ourselves that we can go pick whatever coach we want to replace Pearl.

Like it or not, wins, losses, tournament appearances, etc., Pearl is the most successful coach since Ray Mears. You get rid of a coach that has done that, and good luck getting someone in here that can do better.

And please let it be known that I have been questioning Pearl's coaching tactics since before #5 graduated. I am not in the Fan Club.

Pearl has done some good things for Tennessee, but he's starting to prove a lot of people around here right. It's one thing to get expectations up, it's another to exceed them. Pearl needs to reign these guys in and make them play smarter basketball. I don't have much faith he can, this has been a ongoing rerun for three years now.

5 years is plenty of time for a chpionship?! Tell that to Roy Williams, it took him many years, now he's won two!

I forgot thread postings had to be in perfect English. Next time I'll use my dictionary.

I don't have anything to learn, maybe you do.

How's that "fat 6'4" guys playing half court offense" statement working out for you?

Since you include Milwaukee and love Wiki, let’s compare.

Roy Williams 1st 8 years - Great 8 (3), Final 4 (2), Runner up (1), NC ()

Pearl - Zero, Zip, Nada

Your comparison is weak. If Pearls success looked anywhere near Williams then we would not be having this conversation.

It took donovan almost 9 years to win a title at UF. It's too early to judge pearl.
