If you're referring to Rose, Evans and Wall, them goin to the NBA had nothin to do with Cal! They wouldn't have even went to college if not for the NBA's stupid high school rule. All three would have been top 5-10 pix straight outta high school. Cal is like Kiffin, great recruiter, not much of a coach.

Yes true, but there's a reason the last two NBA rookie of the year award has went to Cal's guys. He knows what it takes to make an impact from day 1 in the NBA. Yeah, they would have made and been successful, but not from the start.

I enjoyed the caravan as well down here. We had a great turnout -- a record for the south florida alumni chapter. Pearl had a number of zingers that got some good laughs from the crowd. He was talking up UF as shaping up to be the best team in the SEC next year. We all started booing in jest. He nodded, paused straight-faced, then smiled and said "it'll make it that much better when beat them AGAIN next year".

He was self-deprecating, referring to himself as the second best basketball head coach on campus. Also got another laugh from the crowd as he explained how he first realized what an uphill climb the men's head basketball coach could have (he previously reminded us that Summit had outlasted seven men's coaches) when a real estate agent was showing him houses in town and was incredulous that he was looking to buy as opposed to rent.

I RSVP'd late, so my roommate and I were at a table with folks from different areas. We were in a corner on the far side from where the Miami contingent sat.

Nice, very nice post.Dose any one know when the Nashville caravan will be?

My understanding is that they are not having one in Nashville this year. They are having one in Columbia... maybe 40 miles south and one in Clarksville to the North West of Nashville. They were supposed to be a couple of weeks ago but were rescheduled due to the flooding in Middle TN. Not sure on the new dates.

I think everyone that is sane and has been a fan of Tennessee sports for a while agrees 100% with the title of this thread.

I like how no one shows up to dump on this thread but someone tries to call people out in spite of that fact.
