that he, and he alone, is resposnsible for the 'AA mess. Saying "We got into this together" is the most delusional things I've heard in a long time from anyone not named Charlie Sheen.

I saw that and thought the same thing.

I thought the same thing. That comment would do nothing but make me want to fire him that much more if I was Hamilton or Jimmy Cheek.

what was the context? Maybe he is referring to his entire coaching staff, who were not completely innocent in the matter.

I'm assuming he means Jones and Internet Monitor Forbes?

Pearl's in advanced stages of depression.
Blind denial.
He should put himself out of his own misery and resign.
And fire Hamilton today for what he did to these kids.

He was talking about "getting through this as a family." He was attempting to make it seem as if everyone at UT is culpable.

judging by his other comments during that post-game interview I find it hard to believe he meant the entire program/AD/university.

Exactly. Quoting Bruce saying "We are in this together" means nothing. You can twist it any way you want it.

I watched it live. It certainly did not seem obvious that he was only referring to his assistants. It seemed like he was talking about the "family atmosphere" he has with his bosses.

That's not what he said. In discussing if he was done at UT, he said "We got into this together." Not sure how there's any way to spin that.

It was in response to the question "Have you coached your last game at Tennessee?"

I'm not sure what response you can expect out of him in that case. He obviously wants to keep his job, or at least keep whatever potential financial buyout leverage he has left. He can't just up and say "I know this is the end."

The comments he made yesterday were indicative of that fact that he is accepting complete responsibility for his fate.

I don't have the quote, but it goes something like when you put yourself in the situation of an NCAA investigation, you are going to be evaluated at the end of the season. And thats what I did and thats where we are.

Any sane athletic director watching that has to ask themselves why they would ever consider hiring Pearl.

How about "I would love to stay at Tennessee. However, I will accept whatever happens because this situation is of my own making."?

Thats a better response, for sure. But when in front of a microphone and the cameras flashing, I'd assume its more difficult and can't be rehearsed.

I disagree with you if you think he isn't accepting responsibility for his actions. He has been contrite and forthcoming since his initial press conference in September.

Getting on him now, and after a miserable loss today looks like piling on. Let it go. His fate appears sealed no matter his responses to the media.

It made me angry just watching it. It's almost like he's trying to group the administration in with him as if they had a part in his unethical conduct.

Right. Because this is something that just came up. It's not like he's had the last 6+ months to formulate a response that indicates that he takes full responsibility for the mess that he and he alone has created.

What else would you expect from him?
