Yea, perhaps he can joke himself out of any further NCAA penalties. I sure the NCAA enjoys all his comments and jokes about this situation. Bet they are just laughing their a** off.

Yes because he is obviously joking about the situation. Like I have always stated quit letting your hatred blind you.

No hatred involved. Just doesn't make sense to minimize the situation and joke about it when you are waiting on sanctions from the NCAA. I'm sure they would prefer that we were indicating that we were taking the situation seriously. Nothing humorous about serious sanctions that may be coming down on the basketball program.

Where is he commenting about anything about sanctions? Chill out, damn.

Amen!

However, the one thing that will cause the most problems with possible additional punishment is the fact that he lied to the NCAA. Both the over use of phone calls, and the juniors at his house one time would be minor violations, and even better if they were self reported to the AA.

You know he's been under extreeme pressure and is totally embarrassed; all he brought on himself. So knowing how the Vol Nation feels about LK, it was simply a joke, and very true as well.

No question it was a joke. I just think Pearl would be better served to quit talking about the situation and let it run it's course. The point I was making is that implying that it is not significant and making jokes is not likely to impress the NCAA. He has made many other statements regarding the situation that seems to minimize the seriousness of the position he and the program are in. Why doesn't he simply say there is nothing else to discuss that has not already been discussed and he will only comment on his team and their performance. Seems a much safer approach to me.

Hard to curb your personality. I agree about him speaking only about the team until after the sanctions are handed down. BP was hammered by the press in New York. Guess he just needed a little release.

As Pearl continues to impress on the Court, his actions and words off the Court also continue to leave much to be desired. A John Wooden or Dean Smith, guys who got it done on the Court and were class-acts off the court as well, Pearl is not nor will he ever be. That's OK with most UT fans as long as he continues to win games, but it will eventually be his undoing when the ball doesn't bounce the right way.

So you're gonna be "that guy" .:loco:

Reasonable thoughts like yours have no place on VN. If UT gets slammed by the NCAA, it will not be the result of Pearl (his mouth or his ego), but instead the evil media, the corrupt NCAA, Mike Slive, and the blue hairs that don't stand at football games.
