according to rivals, tennessee had the #6 class in 2006, #7 in 2008, and #9 in 2010.

Crews, Ramar, Hopson, Swiperboy

just like football some recruiting classes don't pan out. Tobias Harris was the one big win Bruce had but much of his success at UT was built with players already on campus. It's unlikely he has that luxury at Auburn

i understand. i also get it that he's not the greatest coach in the history of the sport.

all, i am saying is......

a. all he's done everywhere he has been is win.

b. while there was some talent at tennessee when he arrived, some of you have spun this way out of control. he did not inherit a loaded basketball team. in addition, is it not possible that it was pearl's coaching ability that was able to extract that ability out of those guys where another guy may not have

c. he took a team to the ncaa tournament with steven pearl and skylar mcbee getting meaningful playing time. so, let's not pretend he needs the fab 5 in order to win games.

forgive me, but i am not buying the angle that tennessee was loaded and ready to explode onto the basketball scene and bruce pearl was just the fortunate soul who was able to coach the awesome that was the 2005-06 roster.

before tonight's game, tennessee has a total of 16 ncaa tournament wins. pearl has 8 of those.

As I said, I give Pearl the credit for making them into #2 seed. However, I also think they were a team with NCAAT talent. I don't think they were the basketball version of the Texas St. Armadillos. And Buzz Peterson was really that bad of a coach.

The truth is somewhere in between.
