Per his post game presser going to "make some tough decisions" and shorten the rotation. What a novel idea coach better late than never I guess.

I'm not sure what player(s) get cut out but I know one player I'll wage big $$$ on stays in the rotation and thats Bruce Jr.... I'm all for shortening the rotation should have been done from game one. I sure hope that SP is left out of the rotation but I also hope to win the lottery one day I guess neither of those two hopes of mine will ever happen.

I'm afraid we're seeing the J. Greene final season all over. Good start (I think from memory) and then fall flat on face. One of the problems has to be chemistry no way players like McRae, Hall, Woolridge, Maymin are okay with playing less minutes than JR that has to be killing chemistry. On the season stats Bruce Jr has played the 6th most minutes this season how pitiful is that.

Looks like Woolridge and McBee are out. Possibly McRae, he didn't play at all today, seems like we could've used his energy.

For one I dont see Mcrae being on the team next year and cant blame him.Pearl Jr. has no business on the floor. If Pearl jr or Mcmiss is still in the rotation then the other players should quit on the spot.

Pearl JRs facebook status is something along the lines of "Wasting my time.. Need to get my priorities in check." Taken out of context, that could relate to his playing time getting cut.

What this Vol team needs is for a couple or three starters to get suspended for off-the-court shenanigans. Then, we'll be back to Elite Eight form.

We still have about 10 hours for the news to break. I think Cam is getting in the car now and Brian is packing his backpack.

Bruce Pearl is the brains of UT basketball and Stephen Pearl is the heart and soul of UT basketball.

Do you guys see the similiarities between this situation and the Tubby Smith and Saul Smith situation at the Kentucky Mildcats, a few years ago??? I seem to recall that that
situation in Ky didn't have a good ending.

The difference- Saul was a competent player.

They're not getting much out of most of the guys playing. If the cuts were based on effort there wouldn't enough guys to field a team.

My only problem w/ the rotations thus far is they seem to be "set in stone" to the exact minute each sub will come in the game. About 4 minutes into the game you have a new set of players that enter. It doesn't seem to matter if 1 player has a hot hand or not. I remember several games back when Goins had 7pts in the first 3-4 minutes, had only missed 1 shot attempt & still was benched w/ over 16 minutes left in the first half. Have also seen Tatum make back-to-back shots & immediately sit down. Go figure.

Yeah, the national title they won in 98 with Saul at back-up PG was an atrocious result. He only started his senior year at point because quite frankly, he was the best option with J.P Blevins being the back up option. True, Smith wasn't that good, but its a horrible comparison to make.

I would like to see Bruce use 2 5 player rotations and put JR in with the older members that are used to playing with him and seem to feed off his hustle. Like it or not, good things happen when JR is on the floor. My old highschool coach said it takes 4 ballhogs and 1 complaining all the time to make a good team. Goins, Scotty, Tatum, and the big guy ( I'm drawing a blank on his name) can be the 4 ballhogs and JR the one complaining all the time. Then bring in Golden, McRae, Fields, Harris, and the kid that recently became eligible with Bone, Hall, Woolridge, and McBee for spot duty. Does anyone know why McBee was getting so much playing time in the first few games?

JR is the strongest player on the team and gives 110% everytime he is on the floor.

Need to play anybody that is willing to play defense. The defense has been absolutely horrible lately. How many wide open 3 pointers will we actually give up before we realize that good college guards will hit wide open 3's.

Unless they play for us lately?! Couldn't resist.
