Great post. I agree 100%. It is a very very sad story. No matter what image has been given to a particular program, you never ever want to see one of their student athletes shot and killed.:cray:

The FIU theory was the first thing that popped into my mind. I doubt it has anything to do with the shooting but it's a interesting situation. The sad thing is if you would tell ANY sports fan that a player was shot and killed and I gurantee you 99.9% would guess it happened at Miami. With all the drugs and gangs in Miami it isn't a surprise. I hope this has NOTHING to do with the brawl because that would be a major black eye for college sports in America.

I'm a huge anti-"U" fan but this is a sad day for thier program, city and college sports in general. I'm interested in hearing more details about the incident. I hope it has nothing to do with the FIU brawl.

P.S.: If some of you have nothing nice to say about someone dying (outside of Saddam) then just don't type anything because it makes you look like a cold hearted idoit! Have some respect for the dead and thier families.

Was this some random shooting, or was there a fight, etc?

Just to be walking in you apt parking lot and get shot and killed, thats pretty scary.

Only "rumor" I heard was it was a drive by shooting....that was a rumor last nite....haven't heard anything official

The point is a 22 yr old just lost his life. Thug or not. There was no place for your comment. It doesnt matter how long the U has been a "thug" school. From all accounts that I have heard this kid was a straight edge, dont get into trouble kinda guy.

It doesn't matter what image the school has, every player that plays for them is not that way. To make a joke about someone that has lost their life is shows how little class you have.

I thought it was funny (the remark, not someone getting killed). You and others obviously do not. It's a difference of opinion plain and simple. Also, I do not need lectures in classiness from someone who himself uses a gangster thug for his avatar.

First of all, it shows how immature you are if you think that a comment at the expense of someone losing their life is funny. I do not think that you would find anyone on this board with half a brain that would think that it was a funny comment. I am not lecturing you about class, I simply stated that you have no class which is apparent by your comment. Also, commenting that I use a "gangster thug" for my avatar also shows your immaturity. He was a very talented man that led a troubled life. I like some of his music and all of his movies and poetry. If you would take the time and sit down and look at the lyrics to his songs you would find that 90% of them is not as bad as people think that it is. Also, take the time to read the book of his poetry entitled "The Rose That Grew From the Concrete". I think that you will find that the person who wrote those poems was a very smart and passionate person, unlike you.

Look. My remark did not kill the guy. I can see that some posters are very turned off by that type of humor and to the extent that anyone feels horribly shocked or offended by it then you have my sincerest appologies.

As for the rest of your post, I suppose that some people find beauty in staring at turds. I doesn't mean I have to like 'em.

I saw it last night and the clip on the news showing his mom wearing a UM jersey crying was too much to take. From eveything being put out there he was one of the good guys. Unfortunately the UM players are targeted by the local thugs for robberies etc. It is extremely sad that a 22 yr old man has lost his life I have definitely prayed for the team and his family.
